Tony from Instagram tag me in one of his lovely videos that he was having throuble with getting good fit for the boxes...

That is pretty much what I do, except for one thing. I part the lid off first, then hollow it out and finish turn it, then hollow out the bottom. This way, especially if you have straight grain, the lid and bottom grains will line up perfectly.

Great video. Was that bees wax? looked very dark, so I'm guessing not?

When making boxes do you always put the tenon on the base. I put it on the lid so as if you lose the lid you still have a little pot. Just wondering if there is a preferred way and if so what is the reason. Thanks Pat

I think its more of personal preference, there is nothing stoping doing the way you do... I just find easier to make tenon on the base if its endgrain orientation,on cross grain orientation I do put tenon or a lip on the lid.... Just works for me.... Thank you Pat for comment 😀
