Reina Scully Totally with you Reina, and Joey too. There really should be a limit to KZfaq stars pushing their "persona" on sensitive topics and cultural aspects. One doesn't have to be Japanese or a fan to understand such bonderies shouldn't be crossed. It should be respected. And being a "celebrity" doesn't excuse you from it. It's sad that his fans and his fame is protecting such garbage people.

Reina Scully Sorry about the aggressive tone in my comment above, but I just can't stand this kind of behaviour. I lost one of the best friends I've ever had (Japanese) when she hung herself, so this hits a personal cord with me. I'm impressed that you remained as calm as you did, and I agree that this 'thing' should be removed from KZfaq and all other online presence he has. He can have it back when he learns to respect others...

UNIROCK he might be so unattached in his own little world that only anything above himself would have even the *slightest* chance of breaking his personal bubble. But, when it comes to those who have a straight up “messiah complex” (I don’t think he has gone *that* far.... yet) they believe themselves to be a god among men and that humans were put on this earth to serve them, I know ‘cause it took me forever as a kid to break out of that mindset and yet, Logan has yet to do it himself.

People like Paul brothers are living in their own bubbles. They are white, rich, famous and privileged, they're surrounded by privileged people as well, they getting handouts all their lives, able to getting away from everything, and think it all are normal. They weren't aware that most people in the world have to work their asses off for a living, not getting tons of money by making stupid videos.

Well i dont think just because he is white and he acts the way he does has to automatically imply bcaz he is white. I know i can find a non white in another country showing mad disrespect too and ppl wont comment things like “he think hes superior bcaz hes mexican” “hes rich and privileged and black so he feels hes above everyone else” “he doesnt see anyone to his level caz hes asian” i know its an easy call at whites bcaz yea they are the most popular of displaying racism regularly. BUT, id say its his parents, i think its his mindset. Im not white but i know plenty smart, cultured and diplomatic whites who dont show any sense of “white superiority” attitude but even if they do who cares anyway?? Like ok whitey u do u, no one is gna lift you up but your mom. White ppl like logan need to realize, its not back in the slave days no more, you dont own ppl and no one will put up w ur shit...when will you just accept that?? Thats y we say things like yea caz they feel priviledged, that old white priviledge. Unless you live in a condensely white state then idk, im from LA so i see alot of white folks deal w racism too. And if a white person is rich, they earned it, i dnt hate people who hustle no matter what color, but if they are like logan, then yea i hate, rich or poor, white or black.

I was in Japan two weeks ago and unfortunately stumbled across Logan Paul. He was at a Buddhist temple in Tokyo and being horrible. He and his goons were wearing kimonos and running around at the Senso-Ji Buddhist temple. They were yelling, jumping off of walls, and interfering with people trying to pray. At one point Logan threw a few yen (pennies) into a collection receiver, referred to it as a wishing well, and made fun of the people standing right there praying. He also made fun of their cleansing ritual. Much of this disrespect was posted to the video "KICKED OUT OF JAPAN! (i'm sorry)". He is clearly NOT sorry. If these antics took place at a church in the US there would be outrage over just that. The suicide video is surely horrible, but only part of how badly he behaved in Japan. As an American traveling in a foreign country, I was mortified and embarrassed to be anywhere in the vicinity.

Dont be dense. Defranco himself has talked about many times how non monetized videos can cause huge increases in subs and subsequent views on other videos on that channel. Her being soooo japanese, which she constantly feels the need to announce, KAWAIi KONICHIWA blah blah blah, means nothing and adds nothing to her response. Think about it this way. How many suicides happen a year? How many barfights happen a year? Why does Phil get lambasted for spending a entire video on a barfight but gets a pass for two entire videos on a youtuber finding a dead body... This story...does...not...matter To you, me, reina, or anyone else. Quit acting like it does

How would Americans react to tourists like Logan fucking around in an cemetary, 9/11 memorial or church in America? People these days seem respect brash, ignorant assholes which is why someone like Trump is in charge. The kind of ignorance that returned to the once liberal and progressive Iran in the 70's during the Islamic revolution is not dissimilar to the anti-scientific, anti-intellectual, "fake news" culture that has pervaded America and much of Europe.

On top of the obvious situation, Logan Paul was disrespectful and rather immature to those in japan as we saw. - running around the shrine, throwing pokeballs. filming people who didnt want to be filmed. Japan is a wonderful, sacred country and you, as a guest from a western country has given the japanese the worst impression known to man. Logan Paul, as Reina state is a sick person who used this entire thing for fame. And also Reina, I am sorry for having experience this situation on top of the backlash from Logans fan, even though you are doing the right thing. We love you and take care.

Dimples Very well said!!! Besides the suicide forest situation, let us not forget that Logan Paul also acted and behaved very disrespectful during his entire time in Japan (there is a compilation video as proof). He yelled in the middle of streets, blocked cars, broke things, and bothered store owners. Stupid is as stupid does! What makes me sad is that the Japanese were too nice to do anything. They didn’t give Logan Paul what he deserved when he acted like a stereotypical dumb, loud American.

See you are just proving what everyone is saying correct. Logan has even told his fan base to not defend him and that hes in the wrong. (personally i dont think hes apology was something to be considered.) You are looking up to someone who has disrespected a culture, a country and its people. Not to mention showing someones corpse and laughing at it like some... Monster. That was someones brother, nephew, son. And you, people of Logan Pauls fan base are also part of the problem. Like I said, your just proving the rest of the world right.

My oldest brother committed suicide 6 years ago. His son, age 8, is a die-hard fan of the Paul brothers. My nephew doesn’t understand suicide. He still can’t grasp the idea of mental illness. As soon as I heard about Logan’s video I knew my nephew had already seen it as he is always notified about videos. I immediately tried to talk to my nephew about the situation, the video, suicide, disrespect and his father. My nephew was blank and cold, he wouldn’t talk or emote. That video seriously messed him up, and I can’t forgive Logan for it, I’m sorry. Logan knows his audience. He knows his demographics. This wasn’t an ignorant act. I’m truly embarrassed and sorry for the way he acted in his videos. Before you call my brother selfish, my oldest brother had a severe mental illness which was intensified thanks to a heart condition which caused reduced blood flow to his body/brain. He showed no signs of depression. Doctors have told us that over half of people with the same condition attempt suicide.

+ Jacky Chew, Eh, I don't know if you're joking or not but this goes for anyone: I don't think nuking 'the hell' out of China will resolve overpopulation. If you were to hypothetically going to nuke China, nuclear energy will result in radioactive and chemical changes to the global climate (i.a, speeding up the process of global warming, increased amount of natural disasters..) From a realistic viewpoint, if radioactive activity were to occur in a densely populated country, this would also affect *animals and plantation*, which affects the balance of supply, demand and overall amount of resources*. This wouldn't exclusively affect China. It would also mean the world's economy would sharply decrease as China is one of the biggest trading partners in the world, which could lead to another 'Great Depression'. Nuking China would also result in mass retaliation, with multiple allies of China attacking the source of the nuclear warfare, meaning more meaningless bloodshed, and an even further *decrease of fund and economic growth. >The Great Depression resulted in a colossal drop of supplies, resources and living standards. >Take example from Chernobyl in Ukraine, which is rendered chemically contaminated, which means that most of the worlds' resources would be inedible and toxic. >If a nuclear bombing would occur, a large influx of pollution would fume into the ozone layer, blanketing the skies in completely black clouds, and blocking out the sun. That would lead to another Ice Age, a dramatic change in climate, the melting of the poles, an increase of sea levels, flooding, more Tsunamis due to weather imbalance, a lack of photosynthesis, a lack of air, more health problems, etcetera.. >Not to mention, if animals are affected, the whole food chain is affected. *A lack of plantation means a lack of prey, and a lack of prey means less predators and a lack of any forsaken species means the complete extinction of a race.* > A country's border does not reach space, so it'll literally go EVERYWHERE if you were to bomb the whole of China. >It takes YEARS of radioactive contamination to be completely gone, as seen with areas of Japan still being contaminated due to JUST 2 bombings. >A modern, nuclear warhead is estimated to have 8 times the amount of destructive force than the two bombs dropped in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. My second point is that China has the *biggest military base in the whole world*, with about 24 million+ soldiers with combat experience. This means that even if there were a nuclear attack, they'd already sight opposing enemies and retaliate with great force. And don't even forget about North Korea. (North Korea has historical ties with China and is an ally.) Finally, nuking the U.S. basically leads to the exact same problem, including a sharp economic decrease. So no it does not *"sound good", Jacky.* The problem won't be solved. Nuking China/America would cause even more problems than you think. That's literally why there's so much political tension because none of your ideas are rational and quixotic enough to be used realistically off paper. There, I said it all.

I was pretty disgusted the way he treated the shrines as well- throwing money into the prayer box, hogging the incense, incorrectly washing at the gate and saying it was to wash away how "sh**" you are- not to mention his dressing gown and how he would leap about and make noise. As a child of a suicide survivor, I found it truly disgusting the disrespect he paid the dead, and as someone who works with kids I'm sickened at his disregard for his younger viewers- some I know to be under 10 years old. I'm really glad you gave us the side of how Japan is responding- I couldn't find much news coverage about it.

Dear lord there is no way that he can be more disrespectful while tossing the coins in than that.

He himself called Japan a “cartoon” himself. He absolutely considers Japanese people just as “ANIME POKEMON SEAFOOD HAHAHAHA”. The fact that he thought buying a tentacle would be crazy and entertaining shows his eurocentrism. In the US tentacles are a bit strange to see, but in japan, waving around a tentacle is no weirder than seeing a guy flailing around a chicken cutlet, which although random is in no way shocking or entertaining. He lives in a bubble and anybody outside of that bubble is fair game for harassment

@BlueChinchillaEatingDorito
@BlueChinchillaEatingDorito 6 жыл бұрын
The fact that it ended up on the trending list wasn't necessarily KZfaq's fault as it's based on an algorithm. As a student studying Computing Science, I get this as it's very hard to program something to catch every little thing that might turn people off. The algorithm would have to be modified every day or even every hour in order to do that, and things will still slip through. So the easiest way to go about this is to base it off stable available statistics already being collected whether it's views, likes, etc. If it's getting a bunch of traffic, it's popular and trending. You don't risk being accused of favouring specific types of content (although they do sometimes prefer paid content, but that's another story for another time). Heck even ABC news videos find their way on trending lists and they're not a channel KZfaq would cherry pick to promote. For me, most worrying part is that allegedly the video was flagged, reviewed manually, with no further action taken against it. That's the most concerning part to all of this. Even with a manual review, the video was online long enough for the backlash and subsequent removal by the uploader to happen. This was a failure that KZfaq directly had the chance to correct, but they didn't pull the trigger.
@HanAdventures793
@HanAdventures793 6 жыл бұрын
BlueChinchillaEatingDorito It just goes to show that KZfaq need better moderation because apparently the video went live for more than 24 hours until Logan Paul took it down himself. You would think if it was flagged many times within those 24 hours, KZfaq would notice that and take it down but they didn't.

This whole controversy really has highlighted the twisted logic of KZfaq as a company and how skewed their system is for what's acceptable on their site and what isn't. The fact that a video like that made it onto KZfaq and didn't go down until he manually did it himself, while other much better content made by far more responsible people gets demonetised the moment of upload, is insane. Counter Arguments recently had a video taken down that advocates AGAINST violence and his channel was striked because the title had 'Nazi' in it. Meanwhile, Logan's channel will probably come out of this unscathed. Oh and let's not forget how Jennafuckin' Marbles made a roughly-40-minute-long video apologising for getting an incorrectly-sized fish tank, while Logan's apology for publicly showing a deceased man is like 2 minutes tops. (Edited this to provide a better example)

Two points: Logan Paul de-monetized his vlog before it was ever posted so he did not make any money for posting it. The vast majority of those on KZfaq, etc criticizing him have made money. Their is a very fine line between monitoring what is on KZfaq or any internet vehicle and censorship. I would error on allowing the audience dictate what the watch.

Grandstreet1 First point: I think op made the comparison that a video of someone filming a dead body, a suicide victim, didn't get taken down while others can't even post their normal day to day content with either getting de-monetized or striked. Cuz that shit is fucked up. I'll agree with you that it's very hard to differentiate between what is censorship and not... but I don't think that applies here. Something that disturbing and utterly, utterly fucked up doesn't belong on KZfaq. Post that shit on liveleak. The fact that it stayed up, it even went to trending, is completely fucking absurd and I think KZfaq as a whole should be ashamed.

A lot of people (particularly those Logangs) are trying to take the forest video more lightly after he made two apology videos. Too bad for them, his wrongdoings as a whole also involved him being a total nuisance around Tokyo just for the sake of making his videos look rowdy and high-spirit by disrupting other people's business and daily lives by shoving his camera towards their faces, while screaming like a kid. It sickens me on how people like him would make excuses that him being disrespectful was just a "character" and he was trying his best to make his vlogs "entertaining". This isn't just about him being a total asshole in Japan, this is about how he'll go over the border in other countries, painting bad stereotypes on foreign tourists, and the next thing we'll see is him "savagely" pissing on the mummified corpses in Capuchin Catacombs.

Logan Paul's Aokigahara video was just the video that triggered the internet, that he went overboard. Watching his prior content in Japan clearly showcases his disrespect for another country's culture, clear ignorance, and his self entitlement, however, most people just give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he's just as stupid and ignorant as he showcases himself to be. Even if he ended up filming the unfortunate suicide victim, his video was clearly not a livestream and was edited in post-production. Anyone with a sane and reasonable amount of brain would have simply edited out the parts where they have been disrespectful and it would have made no controversy.

She’s right that KZfaq needs to handle this. Pewdiepie accidentally drops the n-word on stream, apologizes right after, doesn’t get invited to KZfaq Rewind. Logan Paul posts a video featuring the dead body a human being who felt so hopeless, they took their own life. KZfaq puts his apology on trending, and he continues to make ad revenue. What the hell KZfaq? It’s because the Paul brothers make the company p r o f i t. KZfaq benefits from them whether their publicity is good or bad. As long as companies are okay sponsoring them, they will continue to be relevant. It disappoints me how much of a sell out this website has become, but that’s just the world. Also, great video. As an Occupational Therapist, I have been playing close attention to this entire situation. I am shocked, appalled, and horrified by the amount of children who are not only watching the Paul brothers' content unsupervised, but are getting involved in discussions with adult strangers on the internet defending and supporting these 'KZfaqrs.' The behavioural patterns of these children are all very similar. They have formed emotional attachments to these subjects (whom they are tricked into believing are living ordinary lives) and they see them as role models. Their reactions have shown immature and irrational thought processes, which is quite normal for young children. The problem here, is that they are reacting to a subject which is something they should not have been exposed to. Suicide and death is a very personal and traumatic subject, and should be discussed and explained from parent, guardian, or teacher to said child. Their emotional reactions are not only because their 'favourite KZfaqr' is in hot water, but because they have witnessed a VERY traumatic event. Their young minds are struggling to process their emotions and feelings they are experiencing, because they do no know what they are. This kind of situation can cause extreme trauma, which can last for years and manifest in many different and unusual ways. This is a very serious issue that should be revised by both parents and KZfaq, especially in terms of stringent age-related policies. Witnessing a dead body, especially one through suicide, is traumatic for most adults, let alone young children.

Dragonetta well I would just like to add that as a black Muslim transgender woman who identifies as male, my opinion is more valid than yours. I am a big fan of Reina and I am surprised that upon finding a dead body someones immediate response wouldn't be to report it to the police / other appropriate emergency services, if someone found a dead body and then took the trouble to make a KZfaq video out of it I think that says a lot of negative things about that person, and on some level perhaps it says a lot of negatives about our society in general. I just wanted to add this, as clearly my opinion here actually counts the most.

Now that they know they have influence, they're pushing the boundaries and discovering what their limits are if they have any. They don't have any sympathy or empathy for anyone and that's how it's ALWAYS been. They are not sane people, they never have been. It's truly terrifying to me that kids love them so unconditionally. A narcissist only respects one's self. The Paul brothers both have narcissistic personality disorder. It's quite clear with the inflated egos, the manipulation, the complete lack of empathy... There is evidence that Jake was violent and threatening with Alissa which is also a sign of narcissistic personality disorder. A narcissist is basically a sociopath with a god complex. That's the Paul brothers in a nutshell.

@JustAHorrorShow
@JustAHorrorShow 6 жыл бұрын
TX_ Reaper84 You misinterpreted why I brought up the Jake and Alissa thing. It was just an added note on how dangerous narcissists can be. I wasn't saying they're the same but they do have the same personality disorder. And man is it difficult to explain specific moments, other than the giant controversies, as evidence of narcissistic personality disorder because the moments are endless. Like, where do I even begin? Logan has an inflated ego, this is made clear by how he presents himself, how he talks about himself, his actions. People with inflated egos tend to think that rules do not apply to them because they are special. One example is the vidcon incident. It is HIGHLY unlikely that Logan didn't know the rules and also HIGHLY unlikely that he didn't know why the rules existed. He didn't care though. In his mind, those rules don't apply. In his mind, he can get away with pretty much anything. In his mind, everyone will love him no matter what. Unfortunately this is sort of validated for Logan. His fans are incredibly young. They're at an age where it's normal to idolize those they see on screen. They're at an age where they are easily manipulated and Logan takes advantage of this. He gears his content towards his younger audience rather than trying to gain an older audience. He's fine with having a younger audience because those are the loyal, easily manipulated ones. He takes further advantage of these children by the way he promotes his merch. He'll write a song about how much of a hero he is(yes this is Logan, not just Jake who did this. Logan wrote a song based on a few lines a kid wrote about Logan. Logan wrote lyrics praising himself for the kid to sing. He had the kid sing "Logan is my hero" and "you are really wise" and then he responded with "it's true" BUT HE WROTE ALL OF IT.) with a kid who seems to idolize him but instead of making the song all about heroes and sweetness, the song, like every Logan Paul song is really just an ad for his merch. He tries to use hip hop music videos as an advertising method. Hip hop has become quite popular and is growing in popularity. I believe that many children are really into hip hop these days, when I was a kid fewer people my age were into hip hop. So hip hop is cool, music videos are cool, and kids want to be cool. So, advertising merch in a hip hop music video for kids is a way to get kids to beg their parents to buy them his merch. His merch is also very expensive, again preying on kids who have yet to understand money and their parents who just want to keep their kids from throwing a fit. The overpricing of his merch shows that he's cool with having a younger audience and he's even cooler with taking advantage of them. He wouldn't make as much money from people his own age and he probably knows this. Okay, going back a little bit back to sense of entitlement. Not just at vidcon but his other travelvlogs, he breaks laws and disrespects the culture he chose to surround himself with. It takes little time and effort to do a little research on social customs. But nah, he'd rather completely disrespect an entire culture and disrespect the innocent humans around him. He doesn't do it on accident either. He just doesn't care about anyone other than himself. Another diagnostic criteria is excessive need for admiration and I think that's pretty obvious, for a specific example remember the "hero" song and clickbait everything. And final piece of evidence is his lack of empathy which even though you don't want this, is from his "apology" video. The reason this video is the best evidence for his lack of empathy is because there are other videos analyzing Logan's body language while apologizing. And guess what! Turns out Logan feels zero emotion when remembering the body or thinking of the people who loved the victim. The videos analyzing his body language during his apology are perfect evidence for narcissistic personality disorder. The only moments he shows any emotion during his apology is when he refers to how upset people are with him and when he tries to justify what he did by saying that he films pretty much everything he does. This analysis of his body language really makes it clear that the only person he cares about is himself. Sorry this is a little all over the place, it's very late and I'm insanely tired so I started nodding off a few times while typing but wanted to continue and finish my thoughts anyway. Anyway, Logan does appear to be a narcissist but from what I can tell, he's not quite as bad as Jake. Jake is actually very very very very dangerous and very malicious. I don't think Logan's intentions were necessarily malicious when posting the forest video but his intentions weren't very good either. He only cared about views. He didn't care about saving lives because if he did care about the issue of suicide, he would have done enough research to know that showing the body is a fucking terrible idea. It doesn't take much research at all to figure that out. He literally only took 3 seconds to find 3 phone numbers. Because he truly doesn't care, in his mind 3 seconds of research is moooore than enough when people's lives are on the line. Anyway, back to malicious intent. I don't think Logan is as malicious as Jake but he's willing to go there as proven by the allegations made about Faze Banks. Jake's the one who started the false allegations and Logan should have stayed out of it or even defended Banks. But no, Logan decided that being on Jake's side is more beneficial to his career and public image. He decided that Jake's fans would be more likely to become his own fans than Banks' fans. So, Logan put on his bad acting hat and lied on camera about a police report filed against Banks. It's made very very very clear that Logan is lying when Logan tosses the "police report" and the camera follows the papers to show that the papers were blank on both sides. And then Logan yells at the cameraman for showing people a glimpse of the truth. I have yet to come across allegations or evidence of Logan being violent or coming up with his own malicious schemes but with the Faze Banks incident, clearly Logan is okay playing along with someone else's malicious scheme if there's a way for him to benefit from it. I really hope that Logan does not have any malicious intent of his own and that he never will. I really hope that he doesn't play along with anyone's malicious schemes again. I really hope that Logan never abuses those who love him. I can't hold onto the same hope for Jake.

Jacky Phantom the crimes that Japan committed in ww2 does not apply to every Japanese person, especially the ones who were born afterwards. While some Japanese people may hold bigoted and imperialist views towards others, the bad things about those individuals does not carry over to others just because they're Japanese, just as how Logan being an idiot doesn't reflect every American.

At what point will we stop calling what he did a mistake and start calling it what it was. A CHOICE. Logan is an adult. And knew better there is zero excuse for that video. There was zero thought put into it. And zero respect for the family. It was posted for nothing more then shock value. Not to suicide awareness. He can apologize till he’s blue in the face that does not change the fact that he made the CHOICE to film a humans being in an extremely vulnerable and tragic state. Then made the CHOICE To to edit and upload it to YT on top of making the CHOICE. To put that poor victim in the thumbnail! At no point during any of that did any of them stop to think after the fact that this wasn’t s respectful thing to do or how it could impact that poor persons family. SAYING SORRY ISNT ENOUGH. Actions have consequences and that is something a feel a lot of young you tubers have yet to learn. “ do it for the views” I 100% feel that his channel needs to be banned after this. This was not a mistake this was a series of CHOICES made by adults. And needs to go treated as such.

TheDoomsdayAssault Very well said. This “do it for the views” philosophy that the young content creators are living by today is going to continue to turn into a problem. One thing I noticed as an American in college was that most foreign students tend to have low language skills due to communicating in a second language. One bias that is universal is to judge people by their language skills. In my opinion that leads a lot of people to unconsciously treat speakers (or someone expected to be one) as a child with equivalent language skills. That natural impulse seems to lead some people like that guy to believe that is actually true. Of course, intelligent people know it isn't. I taught a lab course and the top two students could barely speak English at all.

And all of his friends acted like they won the lottery after finding a dead body. I am over a year late to this conversation but I do want to say thank you for making and posting this video Reina. I came across it when Phil DeFranco used a clip of it for his story about Logan. And the reaction to this by his "fans" was beyond disgusting. Everyone basically said "Shut up" and calling you the wrong nationality. That is equally as toxic as Logan disrespecting the body and Japanese culture. He clearly thinks that Japanese people are anime characters because that is what he grew up watching a lot and that stuck with him as a man-child. Those videos of him and his friends in Japan, made me despise him a lot and blocked him on Twitter and Instagram. And his apology video was simply bland and too dramatic. To me, Pewdiepie's apology videos from when he got hit with controversy was better because he was honest and did not shed one tear through any of them. As someone who has been helping raise awareness of suicide with the Philadelphia chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention since 2013, I can tell you when he showed the body (although blurred) I was about to punch my laptop screen so bad. No should disrespect a person's pain and suffering like that. There was a student (who was the unofficial mayor) at the high school that I went to years ago and when the district heard about his suicide, we were completely shocked, sad and angry by the news. So the best way that we honored and respect the student was by raising awareness by attending the AFSP's Out of the Darkness Walks. And I bet you that AFSP had some things to say in an article on their website about what he did. Unfortunately it has been over a year since Logan's controversial spotlight and he is back to what he was doing pre-Japan but still acting like a complete idiot because he and his brother are KZfaq's Golden Boys and they barely pulled on their collars to keep them control. Anyway, thank you for making and posting this video last year, Reina. I know that what I said on this comment is a bit over the place but you get what I am trying to say. I am just spitting out as much as I can muster in regards to what happened. And clearly I am still angry at what he did
