The only problem I have with HotD is the same feeling I had during Star Wars Episode 3.. I already know the whole story is going to end in terrible suffering and drama and I really really don’t want that to happen 😢

I loved what you said about Ser Criston and Alicent, how their hatred of Rhaenyra isn't from a place of virtue it's from them being a slave to their oaths while Rhaenyra isn't one and refuses to do so. Rhaenyra is who Alicent wishes that she was and she hates Rhaenyra for it.

I like how alot of people have a story of how they started watching lol. I was dating a girl who watched all the hbo shows, I had never watched anything on hbo. Our relationship ended up going long distance for awhile so everything we did was watch TV shows, video games, and phone calls. She nagged me to watch GoT for a while and I finally gave in. I barely paid attention the whole first season. Then Ned Stark was executed...... I was hooked.

Maybe just read the books? You seem quite young to dislike something so much 😄 I've waited +20 yers for this show, the end didn't kill my drive. Everything can be better of course but spending all the energy in bashing 1 season out of 8, seems overkilling. Peace

If you’re saying a show like GOT had to “stick the landing,” then you’re also sort of saying it was destined for failure… Winds of Winter, let alone A Dream of Spring was never gonna be finished in time, so it was never gonna be “the right ending” book fans and fans of book theories were hoping for. Period.

HBO had so much to lose if this show was bad and im glad I was proven wrong.

Say what you want about GOT dragons, BUT do not insult Drogons CGI. That boy, and to a lesser degree the dragon from Harry Potter 4 are some of the most amazing dragons on screen

You explained how I felt too. It was almost like a grieving process for a world I loved and that I took solace from. I couldn't watch GOT again for years. I watched it just before house of the dragon. An yea I'm still not over it.

my personal opinion? i see the show split up into three distinct sections, not two. 1-4 (the best seasons) 5-6 (not horrible but noticeable decline in quality) and 7-8 (just horrible. especially 8). bc i really don’t think 5 and 6 are that bad, it’s just bc of the quality of the first four seasons are so high that these seasons just don’t match. it’s after that when it starts going off the rails. also about the gratuitous nudity in got, i totally agree with almost everything you said but i don’t agree with your point about it being stupid showing dany taking control with drogo, first it’s really not a long plot, it doesn’t linger on it long, and two i actually think that out of all the sex in got it’s one of the actually not uselesss scenes/plots because it’s one of the baby steps dany takes to be more in control of herself.

Your commentary on Alicent and Criston's hatred for Rhaenyra in the end is so on point and even Rhaenys pointed this out on episode 9.
