That will work for awhile but will most likely stop working again because the torsion bar steel is fatigued. if you call Kershaw and tell them the torsion bar is bad, they will send out a brand new one priority mail free of charge. I've gone through two myself.

So, this video saved me a bunch of money $$. I bought the knife cheap on that web auction site, and it wouldn't open properly. I was ready to use the Leek for a tent stake or a fishing weight. and replace it. I had already polished and adjusted to no avail, then found your video. Your method was way too easy. I will say I had to play with the torque for the screws...they tighten too much way too easily. And if they loosen up, I'll find some locktite. I guess Kershaw will replace the spring, but it's working now!

Others have said how to get a new bar from Kershaw. I would add, put a dab if grease on the bar, it’s to keep it from rattling. And use some locktite on the screws, I use 222 Purple. It’s for micro threads.

The comment about a new bar is true, but this video will get your knife back to opening well again. A lot of times the bar just needs tweaked with a couple pair of pliers. Nice video

Maybe ask kershaw for a replacement spring or do as you did 👍👍. I do quite enjoy taking apart a knife and putting it back all clean like a gun .

The tension bar plays a "meeee" role in it. I tried to fix mine by doing the same a few times without success. At the end I figured the safety bar connects the rotating part of the blade too hard. Just remove the pocket clip and twist it a little until it barely keeps the blade fixed while open. This solves the roblem muuuuuuuch better.

My man, I’m pretty sure the factory greases that Chamber spring area. What I did was use a little Lucas tractor lube. All you need is a dot on the tip of a Q-tip. It’s now my fastest knife. And because it’s my suit knife, I don’t worry about dust getting in with the lube and making it grimy.

My spring broke only had 2 months paid $75 for it great knife but Mr Onion got lazy during engineering. I love my knife but it's worth 45 bucks because of the steel quality and build.

If you call Kershaw they will just send you a new one. But ever better is to just take out the torsion bar and drill a small detent so you can de-assist the knife, I took out the torsion bars on all my Kershaw blurs and it made the knife feel much better.

what size are the three tourqe screws on the side I can't seem to find a bit to fit mine

Name the Torx Bits used for the pivot screw and the 'scales' screws.... likely #8 and #6 or 7 for the 2 sizes...and remove the annoying screaming music that kids listen to...
