Wow ... I could not possibly imagine a better promotion for RaceGOW Season 2 ... Thank you Joshua! It was super entertaining to watch your progress figuring out the track and the flow and then getter better and smoother until you have a pack where you just completely forget how to even fly haha. That has happened to me many times and it is smart to know your limit for a session and take a break so you dont get too frustrated. Oh and no shame in flying angle mode! I fly angle mode myself for 65mm whoops and I think 80%+ whoop pilots would do better in live races if they flew angle instead of acro, but everyone wants to be TDOG or AyyyKayyy haha. Anyway, I often forget how difficult it is for pilots that don't race often to learn the tracks. Watching this I wish we had made Track2 a bit less complicated for the newer pilots. I hope you dont struggle with the tight slalom too much but the idea of the track is to require many more rotation direction changes to contrast with track1. Anyway great video, I am excitied to watch your progress this season!

Ya, I'm gonna do it this year even if a tad late. I'm off to home depot in about 2 hours bc if I don't do any given thing NOW I'll forget and I really want to try this whole season out. If there's no merchandise specific to the season there definitely should be. I hope while I'm out flying outside I get interest from the kids in the area and perhaps give them a turn to.... well let's be real, a turn to crash lol but we need more interest and this kind of event with quantifiable output to set goals around is a wonderful showcase.

Practicing a course over and over has to be the #1 way to learn better stick control and precision, even if you never actually race. It really enforces the muscle memory of knowing how the quad will react when you move a specific way. You start thinking about where you're going to be rather than where you are, and chaining those movements together becomes very smooth
@FPVSkittles6 ай бұрын
Absouletly. especially these small RaceGOW tracks become about memorizing the stick motions. The fastest pilots barely even see the gates.

@@FPVSkittles I noticed that on velocidrone when I replay them in nemesis mode. I swear some of the guys look like their camera is only at 30 degrees and they are practically looking at the ground (while flying literally twice as fast as me).

If you want to race outside on a bigger course i use wooden stakes and pool noodles there nice and bright and one gate only cost $1-$2 you can also glue the pool noodles together to make wider arches for bigger drones just put two stakes in the ground like goal posts and slip the pool noodles over each one creating an arched gate you can also just run vertical gates aswell

Great way to make a track. You can also use the pool noodles to go over your PVC so when you hit it you are less likely to damager your whoop ;)

I am a lot faster than I was before, even just on this coarse. Right at this moment I am grinding it. I am so glad the deadline got extended because I would have had to watch back an hour or two of dvr and edit, post, and submit that in time. can't quite give you a time yet cause I need to watch back that DVR (haven't picked up lap timer yet) one quick question... even with my boxer plugged in, it dies super fast not sure how to fix it, any ideas? @@FPVSkittles

Pretty good, the times that are curently submitted were from a crusty version of the course made using hoola-hoops and tripods, now I fixed my whoop (until now, just messed up the camera bad...) and got the ACTUAL PVC course built! Can't give you an exact time yet because I haven't watched back all the DVR. I am (or should I say "was") grinding for at least and hour to an hour and a half and I am doing better. can't figure out why my radiomaster boxer is dying so fast though, even when it is plugged un to power and the ELRS module is at its lowest. output power, dies suuuuuper fast. Any ideas? thanks for checking in, it is nice to hear from you! And the reason I have been getting constantly faster at the races is because even though I haven't made it topmost of them, I have been grinding every day at home and so when I do make it to the race, there is a noticeable difference is my flights and placements. @ttles

They just added a movie theater level to that game, it's pretty cool. In one of the theaters they're looping the trailer for that Rotor Dr1 movie. There are a couple things the Microdrones Liftoff version does better than the main title IMO, such as HD interference and Alt-Hold mode.

There are 4 IRL classes this season. You can learn more at RaceGOW.com but for the main game aka "1S whoop class" the requirements are 1S, fully ducted, 2in props max. thats all. There is also a 1S HD class, a UWL class, and an open class. Im not super familiar with Liftoff micro drones but the track is on Velocidrone and that leaderboard is also a class.

Love it! I picked up a Meteor 65. For the last few days I've been working on my indoor acro and can fly around my house in acro with at least a small degree of ability - about as well as I was previously doing with Angle Mode. I made my first ladder (with 30" pipe sections) with an eye toward making this course and practicing. Just for fun, -my times will be garbage. I wanted to see how I did around just the ladder (three horizonal pipes) before building the whole thing, which might be a space issue indoors without some shuffling. At least my wife is supporting it all :) I really want to learn it in Acro, but we will see.

This is where you may want to try BF 4.5's new angle mode. In your review of BF 4.5 you poo-poo-ed the new angle mode (mostly because you should use a flat-ish rate curve as starting point, and not your acro mode rates), but its soo much more responsive, I think you will love it for tiny whoop racing.

Our Multi GP chapter uses a metal bucket to protect the lap timer. We used to think it helped shield RF from the track. When we suspected it might not be working, we put the bucket over the head and goggles off one of our fastest pilots. He saw no video degradation. JB, you might get better results putting your timer on the opposite side of the first gate.
@FPVSkittles6 ай бұрын
The RF timer is really just to give you an idea of what your best three laps are. Then you would go into the computer and put a timer on the DVR to get your "official" time for your submission video.
