"up-away" vs "down-away-up".....Alcaraz' style potentially makes more lag and topspin, right?

I wonder: did you keep this style of forhand after learning it? Or did you just revert to your old style? Is it somehow better or worse than other styles? Or is that just personal preference?

It is a style and personal preference. Alcaraz style is different than Fed's. After the unit turn, Alcaraz extends towards 6' o'clock and has more of a circular loop downwards. Compare and contrast with Fed. After his unit turn, Fed straightens his elbow towards 5'o'clock position; more linear and *much less of a circular loop than Alcaraz* ! . It is true. But either style is acceptable. Pick one that works for you.

It's really about how you are winning your points. Alcaraz is playing aggressively but with more shape, it's a comparatively longer constructed point. The shape gives the defender more time but has other advantages like being safer and heavier on the opponents racket. Fed was more about taking away time. It requires more precision and has less room for error. Thats why sometimes he would seemingly just dominate opponents when he was on, and also why he was the king of grass and Nadal on clay. Alcaraz does dominate quickly at time but overall has longer points. If you look up average rally length you will see the difference. (Altho serve probably had a huge factor in that too) Either way, might not the coach's style to play heavy baseline balls.

I don't see a meaningful difference between Alcaraz and Federer forehands. Both good models to emulate though.

They do have a different grip and accelerate from a different position. But ultimately almost all top 100 forehands are very similar and good to emulate. The only problem with emulating Carlos or Roger is they both hit the ball with a straight arm which is very hard to do if you don't do it naturally.

Your friend should stand on your left side from you , balls should come outwards to your racket and not inwards , now you have the create space Absoluut beginners cannot create antomatically space between the racket and the ball ,They have to focus on their forehand
