You can do it! Ofc I still have rough days but it's been about 3 years for me and I started loving myself. On the rough days I like to watch creators that have helped me with my body image and my disordered eating. And remember on the days that give rough don't give into those thoughts. You have to push yourself. Sometimes that means eating when your brain is screaming at you to not.

Hey Keara! I hope u see this: This made my whole day. You are super helpful and i have come so far on my gender journey and sexuality journey ( queer and non binary💖) I loved the music in the back ground it was very helpful because I have Tourette's and have been ticcing so much today and have been SUPER overstimulated :( so you really helped me relieve lots of stress and stop ticcing! Hi Keara your content has really helped me so much in the past few years. I’ve been struggling with body image issues since I was 6 I’m 16 now and I’ve also been struggling with and really serious eating disorder and have lost years off my life. I’m really trying to recover but it’s been really hard when I have a shitty father who was proud of me when I was “skinny” but I was sick. (He didn’t know that). And my family has been a huge factor as to why I have and ED. I’m really working on recovering I’ve gained a lot of weight back and it’s hard but therapy has been really helping and I love you and I hope you have a wonderful day ❤

You grew up with (and girls still must contend with now) the additional pressures of social media, which only exacerbates body image problems. It’s great that you overcame your unhealthy expectations, but many others still struggle with the topic. Let’s hope they find your video!

I totally agree that reminding ourselves that we need food and eating is good should be a go to-behaviour. We should always give ourselves this act of self love. Some foods give us pleasure and we need and deserve this kind of pleasure. Also, if we eat balanced, even unhealthy food becomes a healthy thing. Growing up, people kept saying to me “You are too skinny. You should eat more and become fat like me.” This developed a slight fat phobia inside me that it also made me very limited in what I ate. In this period of my life, I was also pretending to be a straight cis man, living in the closet as a lesbian trans woman. When one is closeted they usually have transphobic, homophobic, racist and even sexist behaviour, all as a result of a lack of confidence and self hatred. I even did self conversion therapy, by going to church and praying daily. Though low quality psychology and growth, I started eating more varied, but I did not gain any weight before I started vegetarianism, 19 years old, and later coming out of the closet, 20 years old. The last four years, I have gained 17 kilos and I am so much healthier, as well as happier with my self. I am heavier now and it is a result of me being more happy with myself and more stable in my psyche ❤❤❤

@@KearaGraves I am grateful for being my true self and I think every LGBT person should live happily as themselves and that the past should not confront us, nor the future use the past as an excuse against our identities ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 Currently I am making art that reflects my heavy past. It might be received as great by many people but as too dark by others 😂😂😂

omg I need this video so bad. My mum told me years ago that I needed to stop eating and that I was too fat for anyone to love. She starved me after that. The only good comments she makes is if I lose a noticeable amount of weight. I'm overweight now but have such a horrible relationship with food

I'm sorry to hear that. Therapy might be helpful in discovering the root, which can then make it easier to have fewer dysmorphia days. For me, my body dysmorphia is rooted in trauma (mostly physical, some psychological) and I'm at the point where it doesn't pop up unless I'm intensely triggered (at which point I can feel so hideous that I'm $uicidal or curled in fetal position sobbing). Learning your triggers takes time, as does learning your root cause. But it does get easier with time and support. Wishing you a healthy recovery.
