I love how you sometimes stay in puppet character even in a blooper

The consumer doesn't realize how hard it is to make something look easy. Either it's hours/days/weeks of retakes or it's years/decades of training to do it live/real-time. Without that insight, we collectively devalue hard work and dedication and brush it all away whenever there may be a minor flaw. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Best wishes for the future -- you're not even close to your potential.

I never would've noticed the other doll if Barnaby hadn't mentioned it. During the wet footprint scene, there's a two-frame shot of the drowned woman in the second lightning flash.

Fantastic "behind the scenes", Barnaby. Always cool seeing your process. That "flat" 3-D printed image was extremely clever ! And the music & your voice & singing, stellar as always!

Pro tip, for the S sounds most engineers have a Desser, which is a compressor that is just listening to the higher frequencies where those S sounds sit. it will basically give you an automated version of manually lowering those sections
@Solanaar
@Solanaar 8 ай бұрын
Can also use a dynamic EQ or a multiband compressor to only lower the 6-7kHz frequencies where S usually lives. I thought the same when I saw that segment. Automating the gain manually is a pain! Though even pro engineers reach for that technique sometimes, I think.

Sound processing software often comes with a standard, or importable, "de-esser" which automates exactly what you've been doing manually. It's a pretty simple frequency-specific compressor, that lowers the volume when it detects excessive "S / T / F" etc sounds. Once it's set up, it does the work for you and you don't have to touch it again.

It's very impressive that he can change his voice so much. You can clearly tell it's him if you've heard all of his other puppets speak, but they all have their own voice and their own way of speaking.

That was really cool. I can't help but think that, with a small team behind ti share the workload, you could make a great anthology series of short stories, or something like that. It's criminal that you still haven't been offered a show. Specially, after your Dark Crystal collaboration.

Yay! Thanks Phrozen 🎉🎉🎉 The sound recording blew my mind. I’ve known sound engineers have to copy and paste a half note to correct a tiny mis-sing at the end of a long day’s recording but changing the sibilance of every dodgy phoneme was above and beyond. (Does recording software have sound searchability like text documents have find and replace and/or reformat options? Off to watch the Grand-other again to marvel anew. So happy about the new 3D printing setup. What a great resolution in every way.

Nope, it's right after that though. There's a lightning flash during the wet footprint scene (the second flash), where the drowned woman pops up for literally two frames. Once you see it, it'll be easy to pick out. (It's actually pretty distracting once you realize she's there.)
