Planning stands for morning and evening sits can have a tremendous effect on how many deer you see when you spend time in the woods. I go over six ways I use to maximize stands for morning and evening sits.
Trail Cams I use: amzn.to/3BP2cTT
Cell Cams I use: amzn.to/3MFU2Te

Ken, I have a couple pretty good properties to hunt. Both have slightly rolling hilly crop fields which are usually either soybeans or corn, then there are 2 island wooded areas and bordering wooded areas. With both properties, I face what seems like large challenges to me for actually predicting WHERE and WHEN the deer go. I wish I could get some visuals of these farms to show you and have you make suggestions on how to best find and predict the deer behaviors and then plan my stand positions and strategies to know where to go and when.

Also, I do well in listening to your advice, but I am also very visual and wish you could maybe do some Posters or Diagrams to put next to you to illustrate these funnels, and other landscape things to look for. Other than actual video examples, these would make your clips, 10X more informative to me. Keep em coming too.

Haha yeah it was just a dumb thing I stumbled into. I'd rush home after work to get changed to get into the stand and notice the birds absolutely pounding the feeder. After that I noticed the days they were pounding the feeder were always the good hunting days.

@@HobbyHarvest That is funny. So wild how it plays an overall part in nature, of nature. Good stuff! Never stop paying attention to the little things. That's what it taught me. Thank you.

Always great information Ken! What about like in a cedar swamp? I have a spot close to where I think the deer bed. But what food source would they be heading to in a cedar swamp? As far as I know it’s pretty much all the same woody browse. Would that be a morning or evening stand ?

They might just be using the swamp as a water hole only. What I would do is set up some trail cameras where you think they move through and look at the time stamp on the pics to see what time they move through there. Keep in mind that all can change as the season progresses too.

Our biggest bucks bed down in dry spots in and around a cedar swamp and then walk the few hundred yards to our food plots. There's a natural funnel they walk through to get there so that's always been a great PM spot for us. If you know where they're bedding, you can get in there early in the morning and wait for them to return to the bedding area itself.
