Munaf Kapadia, in his twenties, did something not many would have the courage to do so. He quit his white collar job at Google only to build a business that could keep his mother happy. He decided to connect the two dots of the unavailability of the authentic Bohri cuisine and the fact that his mother loved to cook food. He was elected as Forbes 30 under 30 and one of the top 50 food influencers in the country.
With an established brand of himself, he has had guests from various Bollywood stars and respected members of the society. From Google to Forbes, Munaf Kapadia is stealing headlines almost daily. And he will share the History and Idea of how the lost art of Bohri cuisine lead to such successful entrepreneurship. Something which started off as an activity to keep his mom busy and happy has now turned into a much-coveted dining spot for not only Mumbaikars but also for all the foodies across India, “The Bohri Kitchen”.
For Munaf Kapadia, to leave a job at Google and then open something which has never been done before and is an absolutely alien concept to everyone, the TBK was a gutsy and a daunting move.
However, by doing so, Munaf managed to be one of the Forbes under 30, made a successful culinary enterprise and also resurrected the dying culture of the Bohri cuisine.
Most importantly, he made his mom happy! This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
