This is my go to refresh routine when I just don't have time to wash and restyle! There are so many different ways you can refresh curly hair and none of them are wrong, this is just what I found works best for my hair :)
Without all the talking and filming it usually takes me about 5-7 minutes to do this. Hugeee time saver!

FINALLY someone with my hair type! I feel like 2c-3a hair is not represented enough in the curly hair community, since it's in the critical line between waves and curls. Your videos are on point and I am definitely going to use your tips to see if I can get that balance of volume and definition, without weighting down my hair (which is a huge problem for me). Thank you for your videos and keep up the good work!

Finally a channel for 2c/3a haired girls! Most KZfaq content is focused on 3b-4c hair and always made me question if hair was curly enough or pretty enough during the beginning of my curly hair journey. So I'm glad to see some representation for our curl texture!

Finally!! Someone with a 2c/3a curls is making videos...people are telling me that I have a straight hair and in my culture thats a beauty sign! But I always notice some waves in my hair and many times I get curls! But since my hair is smooth and not so dry or afro, people seem to think it's straight and they kinda made me believe that too! They think that no one with a smooth sleek hair can have curls...duh You curls are like mine...but your hair is way too thicker and longer it's really beautiful 😍

I’m absolutely ecstatic that I’ve found your channel. I can’t believe we share the exact same hair type! Nobody in my family has anything near to curly hair so it’s been a loooonggg journey trying to find what works for me. This helps me feel a lot less alone. I would love to ask you a few things, but of course I don’t want to overload you with my questions 😅 New subbie without a doubt 🙌💜

Makes me feel so much better about my curl pattern seeing yours have almost straight bits on day 3! After wash day some of my curls just go haywire and makes it look like I don’t have curly hair. Love seeing how yours looks wet/finger coiled too cause proves to me I’m doing the technique right for my pattern! I just don’t have as much curl on the roots as you unfortunately

Hair twin! 🤍 I’m so glad I came across your videos. I know a lot about my hair honestly but I love seeing others’ routines just so I can learn better! & you’re so so beautiful. Tip: Use a satin cloth or use a little bit of oil on your hands before you scrunch the crunch. Otherwise you are most likely to create more frizz.

wish i could have my hair last DAYS! but my hair ain't as thick as yours lol it's gotten 'thinner' over time (like the amount of hair as my strands are like medium to thick), so it ain't as dense as it used to be which sucks! but glad i found someone with same hair type as me! i'm like 2C on the top layer of my hair, and 3A at the bottom haha

@MarissaLanae I really like your hair! I have 2C curly hair and a couple strands that are 3A (depends on what my hair looks like when I wake up lol). Tbh my hair is kind of hard to identify cuz its different everyday. I have short, shoulder length hair and I feel like it's kind of stretching out because its really thick. I want my hair to be more coily and more 3A type like yours. Also, when I wash my hair, it turns like yours, but the rest of the days it just turns kind of straightish or wavyish (especially at the bottom back, like yours). But ill try to try this way to refresh my hair if I buy the product u recommended. Do you have any advice on how to make my hair kind of 3A like yours, but without it being too big cuz I also have that problem too (my hair gets rlly big at the sides and bottom too. Sorry that was a lot😂. Thanks a lot though! Loved the video btw! If you have any advice it would be rlly appreciated! If not, then thanks either way :)

I'm so glad I found you! I only _just_ started to transition, so I wasn't completely sure I had curly hair. I struggled with dry, frizzy, brittle hair for YEARS!! But, on my best hair days, relatively speaking, I knew I had wavy hair. But, after seeing my hair change as I just started the transition period, I'm seeing it's likely I have more 2c/3a hair. I do have a question though, do you happen to know if you have low, medium, or high porosity hair? Just curious. By the way, I don't know if you're still in the market for a hair dryer, but, I do recommend T3 dryers. They are on the pricier side, but it's someplace to look in case it's something you wanted to invest in. Just my humble opinion. But, if you find that Revlon works for you, go for it.

Pls help 😭😭Whenever I wash my hair my healthy curls look like yours , but as the days pass (even just on the 2nd day) my curls kind of stretch out and some become more wavy than curly. I use the cantu activator (not much) and afterwards I put flaxseed gel and diffuse... I try to use apple cider vinegar for built up removal.. But I don’t know what to do . Do you have any ideas what might be wrong with my hair

One thing that I do to help with the creases is to not use a rubber band hair tie. I use the ones that are fabricky (is that a word?) and I don't get that crease. It really helps.

@marissa_lanae
@marissa_lanae 4 жыл бұрын
sometimes that can be due to heat damage just depending on how long you started wearing your hair curly! But for me I havent used heat in a few years and I still have those straight pieces on the bottom. They probably wont go away and its just something ive gotten used to :/

Marissa Lanae - thanks for replying! I do lots of deep conditioners, olaplex, oils, etc but my curls are still dry and weak :( I don’t color my hair but I have been heat styling consistently for the last 3 years. I’m trying to learn how to wear my hair curly but it’s hard because it gets so frizzy and looks and feels so dry. I’ve gotten rid of most of the dead ends but it still doesn’t feel great. The strands of my hair are very fine so prone to damage.

Amarins once in awhile. I for sure don’t over do it. I’m wondering if maybe I don’t produce enough natural oils? Maybe that’s why my hair gets drier rather than oilier the longer I go without washing

Hi, Marissa! Thank you for sharing your refreshing routine! About the camera, I just want to help - check out the channel of Dana Dey, and specially the video called "Maybelline Dream Radiant Liquid Hydrating Medium Coverage Foundation Review + Demo" - almost at the end of the clip, like at 7:10" minute of it, she mention her camera type and model. By what I see, I can tell her camera is good. I'm not native, so my English is not the best and I can't hear for sure what she said exactly hahah but I believe, that you will decipher it, so I hope that this will help for choosing a camera in case you still didn't buy one :) I like the fact that you are yourself in front of the camera, you have so natural behaviour and you are down to the earth person - keep it that way! :) Stay beautiful and curly!

How do you sleep on your hair? Just started my curly hair journey and I feel like I have to redo my hair everyday because the curls look wild after sleeping and my hair feels super dry and stiff.
@marissa_lanae
@marissa_lanae 4 жыл бұрын
I usually tie it up with a silk scrunchie super high on my head but nothing else. I know some curly girls tie scarfs around their hair and sleep on a silk pillow case so the cotton doesnt pull at their curls!

Or you can also put it up and then wear a silk bonnet. It works great
