How I Render My Sculpts In Blender

I want to share the general process of how I render my sculpts in Blender. In this video I'm gonna show you how to do lighting, shading/materials, rendering, and compositing in Blender. I use this workflow a lot for my sculpture renders. I hope you guys can learn something trough this video. I would say that this is definitely not one and only workflow for rendering sculpts but it's been working for me so far.

Did a sculpting study of a realistic male smile facial expression derived from a lot of references. I sculpted the head in Blender, clothing done in Marvelous Designer and refined in Blender, rendered in Cycles, final images composited in Photoshop. If you have any feedback just let me know. Finally somebody show how to light a scene without the crap sun lamps that I see on the majority of the blender tutorials comunity.

For a character, using sun lamp is resulting in a flat look in my opinion and much harder to control. But sun lamp has its own advantages in some cases.

@@Yudit1999 I totally agree Yudit, each light have its own purpouse. To be honest I feel unconfortable that the majority of the blender comunity when teach to lighting a scene, they use only the sun lamp and the hdri and present that as the great solution. As you said, the sun lamp give flat results, and we lose artistic control.

For this dude artwork the head is done in Blender, for clothing it's done in Marvelous Designer. I mentioned it in the video actually ✌️✌️👌

Mainly I learn from KZfaq. Channel like Blender Guru, CG Geek, Yansculpts, Flippednormals etc is very helpful.

Sometimes I use Blender's vertex paint mode and sometimes I use Zbrush polypaint.

I use tablet Wacom Intuos Create In 3D. I'm serious in sculpting and I started with a mouse for a long time back then.
