Didnt go into installer mode once topped up pressure and select purge air procedure, risk of damaging main heat exchanger and if that goes and your next vid will be how to change a 400 pound part, not knocking you but theres a reason why sometimes gas appliances need to be fixed by a gas engineer👍

It’s 3 nuts, a clip and one nut to change…saves all this arseing around

Hello Neil , I did just what you did before my div valve was leaking, after changing I only have hot water but no heating! I did a purge by running PO but still no joy 😐

Did you buy a part from buycombi? They have videos better showing replacement. Also make sure the valve is correct way round.

@@gringosmith yes bought the kit from buycombi, easy enough tutorial video, It’s probably occurred a different fault that’s not diverted related

The problem with doing this yourself, is your insurance policy will not cover you for any damage that you could potentially do, also your putting your neighbours and yourself at risk, you need to be Gas Safe qualified to open a gas appliance. These rules are there for a reason.

How did you drain the system, is there a drain valve near the boiler?

There is 2 drain offs on the flow and return valves..you need a 8mm spanner to turn the main off too

If you run the hot water and the pipe to the left of the hot pipe is getting hotttoo it’s the diverter

The heating hasn’t kicked in the pre heat for the hot water has kicked in…take that off right away

I would say by the time you actually found out what to do your time invested was equal if not more to what you would have paid. don't be smug its not about how easy it can be its about knowing what to do after fault finding the issue.

Boilers aren't rocket science, Gas Safe engineers just want to charge more than rocket scientists earn.

No 26/9 checks and you are not changing the diverter valve you are just replacing the cartridge... As an engineer myself I don't mess about just changing the cartridge I replace the whole valve also you get at the same time a full check as I've removed the front case ... Purely DIY but should not be carried out in my opinion by the DIY person ..
