Great video! Very interesting progression of the heat added to the tank, I really appreciated you showing how it heated up over time I stead of jumping to a finished result.

Snakedude1814 theirs seems to be a lot of debate on the care of these guys. I'm not saying my way is the absolute right way. But I do feel I hit all the right husbandry needs. I'd show how I achieved it and people can choose for themselves. Thanks for watching!

The stone should be 150F. Air humidity 60%. Tank should be anywhere from 6ft x 4ft x 4ft or 8ft x 4ft x 4ft. If you want better holding burrows use some play sand mixed with your substrate. Besides that you are good. 😄

So what size enclosure would be great for an adult?

I love a comment like this it’s criticism but it’s not mean in no way is this a mean comment and people should see this more often
@FenrirYT132 жыл бұрын
no keep away from Sand that is a BAD idea since they get substrate on their food it will impact them. Jungle Mix is the best keeps the Humidity and warmth this 40 gal is a joke

Nice tank 1 question that bulbs isn’t too low in that cage ? Can’t he get burned ?
@reptilejones5 жыл бұрын
He was unable to get that close to it
@Kyle-zo1hp5 жыл бұрын
Reptile Jones What do you mean it’s right in the cage excuse my lack of knowledge I’m just curious I’m seriously considering getting a monitor I have a tank about the same size of your from my old ball python 🐍
@reptilejones5 жыл бұрын
The rock surface gets to around 125 so that temp won’t burn him. He also unable to touch it. He can’t jump that high.

emerald reptiles for a sav that's the size of a leopard gecko?
@leonidas2316 жыл бұрын

If it's still a hatchling, 40gal breeder is still fine.

@devineakles48707 жыл бұрын
This setup is very wrong. Way too small. Even for a hatchling.
@reptilejones7 жыл бұрын
Devin Eakles please share more of this wealth of knowledge that you've gained from personally keeping these animals for decades!!
@devineakles48707 жыл бұрын
reptilejones okay I will. 8x4x4 cage min. No glass aquariums because it is way too hard to hold the 60 to 80 percent humidity needed also very hard to keep the heat gradient they need. 140+ basking and cool end needs to be around mid 80s. But you are right. Aquariums are great for them.. smh
@devineakles48707 жыл бұрын
reptilejones also need 2 feet of dirt sand mix for substrate. So they can burrow and get the moisture they need.. Wanna know anything else?
@reptilejones7 жыл бұрын
Devin Eakles that's where your wrong. I've easily been able to keep the heat and humility right where he needs it all inside this glass enclosure!
@reptilejones7 жыл бұрын
Devin Eakles I do want to learn more! Now that we got the "cut and paste" info out of the way. Tell me more on your personal dealings with Savannahs. How long have you been keeping them? Any breeding? How many do you own currently? Over the years how many have you kept? What's the age of your oldest sav?
