I have shot IR film though not recently. I have shot Ilford SFX 200 using red filter(R25) and Kodak EIR(false colour IR) using a G filter(orange colour). I use Minolta XD-11 w/24-35/3.5 lens. None of us that have shot IR film including the group that is in my city shoot IR film the way you are doing. A suggestion. If you continue to shoot with the IR filter don't stop down the aperture open it up as it would require a ridiculous amount of time to record an image. I shoot wide open at f3.5. BTW, don't bother looking for the Kodak EIR film as its no longer available.

Do try Rollei Superpan and IR 720nm when U hv the chance. Longer Exposure time is fine with me as I will use a tripod. Though I try to avoid doing long exposure to the point I have to do reciprocity compensation. At least until I get to know the compensation time well since I am doing black and white reversal processing (slides)

@@AnaloguePT Longer exposure also requires cable release as i use to shoot fire works. I do own Hoya R72 and B+W 099(for colour infrared) Superpan i am not going to bother with. I will shoot what i can get that is available here. I have a few rolls of Fujifilm Acros 100 and Kodak Tmax 100. Consider this filter if you don't have one. UV pass filter. Blocks all visible light except for ultra violet. Higher elevation will have more UV light but not by much.

The Nikon 50/2 has 52mm filter thread. The R72 has a 67mm filter thread. You are going up with a step up ring. You said step down which is incorrect.

Ha U r right. I always think from the filter perspective instead of the lens.
