I do a lot of on-the-water photography each season for mags, orgs corps, customers and sponsors. I'm frequently asked how I shoot fish when I'm by myself. Priority #1 is always the health of the fish and only THEN comes the concern of making a good photo. Shooting action as it happens is always best and gives you the most candid results but staged shots can be a fun too. Here is what I do to minimize any stress on these awesome fish!
