Hi everyone! I’m back today with a video on how I use Dr. Bronner’s Soap. If you’re a fan of this soap, please let me know your favourite ways to use this product. Thank you for watching! x

I am in my 60's an have been using Dr. Bonner's sonce I was 12. I always wash my hair with Dr.B's because it throughly cleans my hair and scalp like a clarifying shampoo but without stripping it and rinses out throughly. I also wash fruit and vegetables with it as well, for decades and use a 1/3 soap to water solution. I use it for hand washing delicate clothing. As for the dog, I would check with a vet because some breeds are more sensitive than others. Good vlog, thanks

I've used Dr. Bronner's to wash my hair, only a few drops. Maybe only once a week, followed with an intensely moisturizing conditioner, as I find this method of shampoo can be a bit drying. I've washed a load or two of clothes with it, and it gets the job done just fine. I've also cleaned my sink and toilet with this, in addition to a couple drops of grapefruit essential oil. I'll definitely be cleaning my makeup brushes with this tonight. Thanks for the tips!

I use it diluted with water in a spray bottle to clean the windows. Perhaps 1 part to 10 parts of water. You can increase or decrease the percentage. When cleaning the windows or anything glass (stove top etc) just spray it on and wipe it dry with paper towels. Fantastic finish, and non-toxic. Shower screens come up cleaner, so do tiled floors, and even car windows. I love this product and use it for almost everything. Thanks for your video, make-up brushes are yet to try.

Thank you for the great video. I just started using the Tea Tree scent in a pump bottle for hand soap and I used three pumps for a face cleanser since tea tree is great for problem skin. I noticed while using this that it’s much softer on my hands but I also add distilled water instead of water from my faucet due to my water is really hard. I’m going to use it for a whole lot more things especially for my rabbits (houses) BUT I’ll use the unscented one. I just ordered from their site the green tea, unscented and cherry blossom. I’m kinda addicted to this stuff and want a lot of different scents for different jobs. Later on I’ll buy the gallon size. It’s amazing how many things you can use this stuff for.

I recently started using Dr Bronners and I'm completely obsessed!! I didn't even know it was so amazing or popular when I bought it. Prior to purchasing, I was strolling along in my local Walgreens. This was several months ago and I looked at one of the bottles... I had seen these soap bottles dozens (maybe even hundreds) of times over the years, but until then I had never picked a bottle up to read what all that writing was about. As soon as I started reading it though, I knew this was something I had to try... I didn't get it right then because they only had the large bottles and I didn't plan to buy one. So I waited until I found a smaller bottle on sale. The first time I used it was just to try washing my hands....I could tell there was something magical going on with this soap right away. So I took it in the shower to try as a shampoo. I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week so it can get a bit oily at times. The oiliness requires a small pre-wash and a second regular wash because the oils kind of 'eat up' the first bit of shampoo, lol. Well, this was not the case with Dr. Bronner's. Even though my hair was indeed oily enough to soak up any other shampoo for my pre-wash, Dr Bronners suds materialized immediately, just like they always do. And as you said, they don't last long, but they rinse out so easily and you get that clean feeling right away. I'll never understand how they've done this with the simple ingredients in this soap. I followed up with a very small second shampoo and was pleasantly surprised at how my hair felt and how manageable it was once it dried. I don't blow dry or anything, but I do add a bit of mousse to my fine, long, straight hair while it's still damp. Once my hair dried, I had nice volume and texture. It was quite shiny & manageable as well. It did feel different than usual, but it was a good kind of different. I rotate almost every time I do a shampoo so I'll definitely add this to my rotation. I can't wait to try it on makeup brushes!!! I've used it on my plants, only in a slightly different way & with excellent results. I have a spray bottle with measurements and I add ½ tablespoon of the liquid soap to 16oz. tap water and spray all over the leaves, dirt and pot. The results were better than using a homemade neem oil mixture.... And it smelled a whole lot better than the neem also 😂 I checked inside my little humidity tent the next day and the whole environment inside was just cleaner and brighter. It worked extremely well in that regard and I haven't seen any aphids since!! I'll also use that same spray bottle solution as an all-purpose cleaner for small, daily messes. I have the Lavender and want to try the Peppermint or Rose next. I should also say that I did use it as a body wash the same time as I tried it as a shampoo and it did work just fine. However, I do like my luxurious sudsy body washes so I prefer to use something that lasts a little bit longer as far as suds go. Additionally, my skin tends to feel a little bit dry after Dr. Bronners rinses off. Body washes with richer lather aren't as drying so I prefer something else for body wash....but it certainly does work, and there are probably plenty of people who would prefer that type of fast & immediate clean, dry feeling. The last thing I tried it for is shaping and holding eyebrows up in a feathered, brushed up position. Results were incredible. I didn't even have what you're supposed to have, which is the Dr bronner's bar soap, so I just used the little bit of slightly hardened residue around the lid of the liquid soap. There are some great tutorials here on KZfaq that show the technique I'm referring to, but I personally loved the results that I got. Again, I used the little bit of hardened residue from the liquid formula, so I imagine the results would be even better if I did have the actual Dr Bronner's bar soap. Sorry to write a mini novel here but I hope that somebody gets some good info from this and decides to give it a try. I've been saying it over and over for the past couple of weeks that this stuff is truly magical 🌬️🌟⚡🩸🙌🧚🏼🧜🏽‍♀️🔥🌵🌴❄️🌈☄️🦜🦦🐙🐚🐝🦋🍄🦄🐉🕌🗿🏛️💉💉🛸👽🧬🧫🏺🗝️🔮

I used it undiluted on my bathtub when I first moved in to my apartment. It had a nasty film all around from lack of scrubbing from previous dwellers. It removed it on contact. My husband was not impressed he had just bought scrubbing bubbles to the the tiles and there was a lot of scrubbing on his end to remove the gunk. I however just had to wipe and rinse 🤣.

I am relatively new to castile soap. I have used the baby (unscented) formula to wash my car. This is my absolute favorite use for it. I don't use the scented ones because I don't know how the essential oils that are in it will react with the paint on the car. I don't use a lot and it foams rather well. I have used it as a body wash, and a face wash, too. I would like to try cleaning with it as well. I haven't had the chance to do it yet. I don't recommend using it for your hair if you have dyed hair, because it will strip your hair of the color. If it's right before you are going to color your hair, that would be fine, since you can use it as a clarifying shampoo.

I like the Dr Bonners Tea Tree blend. I am really susceptible to fungal infections, ringworm & athlete's foot despite my cleanly hygiene. Any time I am exposed to a fungus (I work in an animal hospital so I am exposed to ringworm all the time) I will use it to bath & wash my hands so it's less likely that I will get the infection. But if I do have the infection it helps to clear it up faster in conjunction with antifungal creams.

Very cool, I had no idea but I'll def check into these. I recently discovered my local Walgreens stocking the Dr. Bronners bar soaps and a sugar based liquid body soap which is made just for skin. So far I love it. It has the rich lather that the original castile soap is known for, but the lather lasts a while longer and rinses off just as easily without a bit if dryness felt on skin... You don't need much, only a few drops, but I do wish that either the price was lower or the bottle was bigger lol. $10 is a lot but, to be fair, such a small amount is necessary, it should last a long time.

A question I've had for a long time about Castile soaps: during rinsing and before drying with a towel, my hands seem to have a slippery film on them. I assume that that is from the oils. Should it be rinsed off completely, or left on, to nourish and/or protect the skin? If relevant, I live in a region with soft water.

Truthfully, you are the one whose gotten off the fence about using Dr.Browser's castille soap. I used to see it in stores and wondered about all the writing on the bottle? My sister (many years ago) used to use the peppermint scent. But every time she washed with it, for some reason, I couldn't tolerate that scent which was crazy because I love the taste of peppermint? Teas,gum, candies etc. Anyway? I came across this video and gave this soap another try only a different scent. (You guessed it) baby unscented also almond because I love sweet and warm scent and I don't have sensitivities to scents. All this to say thanks because of your demonstrations made me want to try this soap and it's a pretty good soap. Have you ever try goats milk soap? My recommendation is Beekman 1802. Only? I don't know if it is available in Canada. If you ever get your hands on that product, you'll be in for a treat. Google and see for yourself. Thanks for reading this long comment. 😏

Dr. Bronner's Soap... I've used it for 20 years, started as a biodegradable backpacking soap. Now I use it for body and hair in a 1:4 ratio (bottle 1/4 of Dr. Bronners and the rest water) and even 1:8 works fine. I like the way it rinses off. I've even used it for toothpaste, one drop (of the diluted) on the toothbrush and our mouth foams like a rabid dog...but don't touch your tongue to the soap if you can help it.

From Wholefoods market I got Dr. Bronners liquid castile soaps in the largest bottles the peppermint one, lavender one and almond one, you like the same ones as me I first started using this one when Isaiah's mom said she loved it and used it and have been using it ever since she mentioned it as a body wash, I dilute it in a foaming pump for a hand wash, use to wash my Aveda Flax makeup brushes and other makeup brushes, and twice a week I use literally one drop to wash my eyelids with diluted, one drop is good for regular eye makeup wearers when properly diluted cleans well and the rest of the time I use a moisturizing face cleanser Aveda creme cleanser and in the hand foam pump I wash fresh produce and cans off with Dr. Bronners too before opening cans, groceries at Wholefoods, Pirates Booty aged cheddar snack... I have tried Dr. Bronners as a laundry detergent it's ok but I prefer Mrs. Meyers Honeysuckle laundry detergent or any others by Mrs. Meyers hers smell so pretty

Rachel Pierce I’ve been using this soap for my intimate area for YEARS and I’ve never had any issues. For every capful, I add five capfuls of water. My husband uses it as well and he has no issues either. It’s super gentle. I wash my face with it as well. I love it. I prefer the rose scent, but I use them all. I tend to use the peppermint to shower in the summer time because of the cooling sensation. Try the baby scent for the intimate area too. You won’t be disappointed.

I use Dr. Bronners to wash my dishes and I also have hard water. It’s a common misconception that you need to have suds in order to clean. Products that produce a lot of suds are often made of harsh, toxic chemical detergents. I’m going to also try Sals Suds, which is also made by Dr. Bronners and is supposed to be a better cleaner for hard water applications.
@AuthenblissityMain

Sal Suds is amazing! I use that for my household cleaning. I agree with you on the suds, but since I put Dr. Bronner's in a foaming hand soap pump, the foam IS the soap. Once that's gone, my dishes stay greasy.
@dianasimplifies

Kelly Switala if you read the ingredients on Sal Suds it sounds like it has the same type of chemicals used in regular soaps. The ingredients we are always trying to avoid. I just looked at the bottles in the store the other day. I think that’s why it works better. Just FYI.

Grace La Rock I did notice when I was at the store that Sal Suds seemed to have more ingredients and I wasn’t sure they were all natural. You might want to do a comparison with your other Dr Bronners products and see if you notice the same. I think that’s why it’s more soapy.

@@dianasimplifies and If you are interested, I found this: Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds Liquid Cleaner is not a soap but instead is a concentrated hard-surface all-purpose cleaner. It is made with plant-based surfactants and natural fir needle and spruce essential oils (no cheap, harsh pine stump oil), without any synthetic dyes, fragrances or preservatives.
@dianasimplifies
@dianasimplifies 4 жыл бұрын
Grace La Rock oh ok I compared ingredients at the store and pretty sure what I saw on the bottle wasn’t all natural but if you are happy with the product that’s fine, wondering if they have changed things up a bit bc I saw stuff that’s in regular soaps. The sulfates I think. I would have to look at it again but it wasn’t pine or whatever you mentioned. That wasn’t what caught my eye right off the bat.

I cannot get an answer to my question anywhere. Can’t I use the dr bronners Castile soap undiluted on a wet sponge to wash my dishes? Once you add water to something it opens up the chance for bacteria to grow. Micro bacteria too that can’t even be seen. If i’m washing dishes in running water anyway (and i’m always wearing gloves), why can’t I use it directly to wash the dishes without pre diluting it. I understand it doesn’t need preservatives on it’s own, but once water is introduced to the product then it changes the rules. I just want to know if it’s an absolute must to pre dilute, and what the issues would be if I used the Castile soap to wash dishes with only the running water to dilute it on the dishes themselves - like regular dishsoap

I’ve also used the bar form of it and grated it down and made laundry soap with baking soda, washing powder and borax added. Then Ive used the bar soap to take a bath and I’ve loved it but you have to be careful that it will not dry out the skin too much.

The bottles should have a code printed near the bottom. For example, one of my bottles has this code: 18135 5715 - the first set of five digits is the Julian Date Code and the last set of four digits is the lot code (which you can ignore). My bottle's 18135 means it was manufactured on May 15, 2018 (first two numbers represent the year and then the 135th day of that year). I've read online that it's recommended that you use castile soap within 3 years of the manufacture date. I just recorded a video on this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o6dhaK6h1prDoKs.html

My hair can't stand it. The tape water where I live is very hard so if I use soap to wash my hair, it turns out awful. So before using it on your hair, check your tape water hardness. Face wash in a pinch is ok but I have other things which are more gentle. It won't replace my toothpaste, the horrible soapy taste lasted for hours 😭 Ok as a body wash but definitely not the best. Ok as dish detergent but it's really expensive (about 10€ for a 240 ml bottle, 24€ for a 940 ml bottle) where I live so not economical. Haven't tried laundry yet but same things to note as for the dish detergent. I don't have any pet. I do use it for washing my hair brush. It's OK. Hand wash is also OK but I have access to gentler things for around the same price (liquid Aleppo soap). As for general cleaning, I have cheaper alternative. In short, I will use up my dr bronner's but won't buy it again unless I have not other gentler alternatives. It is readily available in most countries.

@stacym5135 11 ай бұрын
To get Bronner's to work with your hair you are going to need an acidic rinse after washing hair. A 50/50 mix of water and either lemon juice or Apple Cider Vinegar. You need an acid to cut through the soap so that it will rinse and come completely off the hair strands and scalp. I found this out from Lisa Bronner many years ago after emailing the company asking about it. If you don't use an acidic rinse then your hair will be filmy.
