The Mauryans did pretty much control the subcontinent at its peak except the some South bits, which was similar to the peak of the Mughal empire.

@@peace-cy6wd wrong history, Marathas never ever asked help from any nawab instead they helped the bundelas and rajputs to defeat Mughals. Mughals who had a 7 lakh army were dead scared of Marathas as they were powerful in their own jungle region with war tactics. Nizam was not allied with Marathas but he had his own kingdom later on taken over by them. Goa had Portuguese, British and Marathas were under attack by Mughals , Adil Shah (backed by British with canons and muskets) but still Marathas made their way though by defeating them. Today the map and demography would be different in Goa and coastal area of India if Marathas would not have been there. Nawab who had jagirdari of bundelkhand area of Sagar ,panna is Muslim but his father is a Hindu none other than peshwa bajirao ballal. Marathas became a major power until the Anglo maratha war and then slowly British took over.

@@Saber23 no, they were sunni but had shia wives too and also given good position to shia because Iranian king once gave shelter to the fled king Humayu, father of Akbar. Second, learn about what is Fatwa alamgiri. 500 top hanafi scholars brought together worked so hard and write the constitution of the Mughal empire under Badshah Aurangzeb Alamgir. If they were shia why they r forming Universities and investing so much time akd effort in Hanafi Fiq and ruling according to Hanafi fiq. Third, offcourse they was conflits and empire started to collapse after death of aurangzeb as later mughals were not competent enough. But where they shia or sunni. Without a doubt, from Babur to last Mughal king Bahadur shah Zafar, they were on the mazhab of Ahle Sunnat.

There is historical accounts a southern King from the state of present day Kerala , accepting Islam directly from the hands of our Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him). That Cheeraman Jumma mosque was built by local Hindus for Arab traders who were residing there. There are many such fake stories and fables in the Isl@m of Indian Subcontinent. Like an Indian Muslim Sahabi aka contemporary of Muhammad who met latter and lived for 500+ years. Other such stories which have no historical basis are a bunch of Hindus going to Karbala to escort/bring Imam Hussein to India, old lady throwing garbage at Muhammad's house's door story, some prophets being buried in India, graves of Aadam(Adam) in UP state, Adam being from Sri Lanka/India, Jesus Christ's grave in Kashmir,etc. And so on....

This is because the Muslims in the Arabian Peninsula were in conflicts. They would have conquered all of India otherwise it would not have mattered. The Indian Mughal Sultanate was very powerful and was stronger than Britain and Spain. How could it not conquer southern India?

Assalaama 'aaleikum brother, your content is really good. But just to point out a small mistake, there were 3 non-Muslim rulers who achieved pan-India control before the Muslims did. First was Ashoka from the Mauryan Empire -his territories lay beyond the natural frontiers of the subcontinent, second and third were Samudragupta and Chandragupta-2nd from Gupta Empire. The next person to do so was 'Ala-al-din Khilji

@@Saber23 : I do NOT see any difficulty imagining Hinduism without caste system. To begin with caste was NOT fundamental to Hindu society until Brahmins arrived from Eurasia. Most of the elements of modern day Hinduism come from a time or have their roots in a time before Brahmins (and the caste system) came to India. The Brahmins just took up high positions in the society upon their arrival and more or less accepted all the pre-existing elements BUT restructured the society in such a manner that they would always be on top (although that did not happen since today Brahmins lag behind not only fellow Hindus like Kayastha but also behind Jains and in some states Syeds in terms of wealth and education).

Furthermore, realistically, it is unlikely for a Sunni minority to live in peace under Shia rule. However, the opposite is true because Sunnis don't have contempt towards the Shia the same way the latter have towards Sunnis..

But one feedback I have for you, which might be valueable for you. While talking about the contenty, your posture is not good. My suggestion is, that you rather stand up and increase the height of your camera, so that your eyes and camera lens are on same height and your back is straightend. Muslims (especially those of Middle Eastern background who settled in Kerala in the middle ages) are a bit more radicalised because of the politics in Kerala. Hindus are the primary victims of Secular and Communist political agendas, Christians a bit less, Muslims, hardly anyone. It's not the fault of Muslims that they do not fall for the Brave New World politics. Only if you know what I mean.

Although most people idiolize Alauddin Khilji / Aurangzeb as greatest medieval ruler , but in my opinion Akbar was the wisest of all mughal /muslim rulers in the Indian subcontinent. His empire had the greatest stability , peace , his courtiers belonged to all sects and communities of society. His geopolitical strategy was indispensable in the kingdom. Not to mention his farsightedness.

Akbar was not a Muslim tho. He created his own religion and followed that. U should read history of Akbar’s war with the Bengal sultanate aka bara bhuiyan. Even his own general joined with the bengal sultanate to figh against him. Akbar could not defeat bengal sultanate. But at the end isha kha at his old age came to a agreement with akbar which ended the dispute with some form of autonomous rule of bengal. When isha khan died delhi celebrated his death.

@@faraznoor6802Even though Mughals themselves were not morally great leaders (except Aurangzaib), they established Hanafi Fiqah as the constitution of the empire. Even during Akbar's time Hanafi Fiqah was the constitution and his judicial system was based on Hanafi Qazis. Beurocracy was constituted of Dars-e-Nizami graduates. It was always a Muslim country during the Mughal times.
