its my first time to see sea pineapples. Harvesting even is not something that im aware of. That harvesting is very systematic.

I hated eating these as a kid, but they’re my mother’s favorite. As an adult, I did learn to like them, but it’s definitely an acquired taste. The meat can be slightly bitter or sweet, depending on which part is being eaten, but underneath it all is the tang of iodine. We consume these raw dipped in a spicy gochujang and vinegar sauce.

Indescribable, it is not sweet or sour like fruit pineapple rather it tastes like ocean !!???? Similar to sea urchins and we eat them in law. It is sold in frozen section in Korean market.

Well, what a wonderful world we live in. Although l won't be queuing to try these, l enjoyed learning about them. Your description of their flavour reminded me of how an Australian friend described 'insalata di nervetti' - Nervetti Salad, which is a speciality in parts of ltaly - he said it was like eating rubber-bands in vinegar. (Scusatemi Milanesi) For anyone curious, here's a description from a website that sells it. Nervetti Salad a typical dish of Northern Italy, particularly famous in Milan, where it is called “nervitt in insalàda”. Although its name might suggest it, it is not made of nerves. In fact, this word comes from the dialect term “gnervitt”, which stands for beef gristle and tendons.

I have learned a lot from these KZfaq videos. For example, I have not known that tunicates are eaten and even raised industrially. I would be willing to taste them!

I am an American wether north or south our ancestors are European. Rare seafood products from poor peoples. Most foods were learned from natives that they did not bring with them. This reminds me of chicken. I want to try it. Fried or sweet and sour or with garlic.
