I read an article recently that said Chase was waiting to see what Justin Jefferson gets before making any decisions on his own future.

yeah well thats kind of stupid. The Bengals should try and sign him sooner rather than later because it will only get more expensive. If Chase "waits" to see what JJ gets then not much the Bengals can do. Plus he still has 2 years on the rookie deal as opposed to JJ who i think has 1 more year on his deal. If this is some sort of "bragging" rights thing with JJ his ex-LSU teammate then how can the negotiate in good faith stuff happen. Higgins is getting paid 21 million if he signs his franchise tag tender. i dont see him getting more than that from anyone unless they are desperate. So he should sign it, have a big year and stay healthy and maybe he can get more next year as a FA. Plus, if Burton is really good its bye bye Tee.

Why wait on Justin Jefferson if your the Bengals? We all know Jamarr Chase is more valuable to an offense than Jefferson is. You can line Chase up anywhere along the line of scrimmage,as an X,a Y or a slot receiver. You can even use him in the backfield. Burrow might be the engine of the offense,but Jamarr Chase is the fuel. So it only makes sense to extend him now,because you know the Vikings is going to throw crazy money at Justin Jefferson. They really have no option but to in Minnesota,but the Bengals is a different situation. Sign Jamarr to a 3 year extension worth 95 million dollars and 75 million fully guaranteed,it’s going to be a better deal than what the Vikings pay Jetta!

So Miami is paying Tyreke 30M/year and Waddle 28M/year. I don't know what the cap is or any of the limitations the team has overall to really understand if this is insane or normal. 68M/year for two receivers sounds high --- maybe it's not though?

Well, I can tell you right now that Higgins is not worth anywhere near Waddle's contract. I'd have a hard time giving Higgins 21m/yr guaranteed. And the ability to make more than that would be heavily tied to some lofty stats. Higgins has missed over half a season of football the last 3 years and has been injured/playing decoy for several more games. Last year he finished with Kyle Pitts type numbers, a middle of the road TE. Last year there were 33 pass catchers in the NFL who met or exceeded Higgins' average production, most of whom are being paid less to substantially less than him. There were about 63 pass catchers in the NFL who exceeded his production last year, many of which were TEs or #2/3 WRs. We just let Boyd go for nothing who had more yardage than Higgins. No way is he worth anything near #1 money and especially no high guarantees. The Bengals should trade him.

I think they would have if there would have been a reasonable offer. Tee is still a damn good #2 who stepped in games when Chase was injured. He's a big receiver at 6'4" and the only other guy we have like that is Iosivas at 6' 3".

IMO, this isn't a big impact to either receiver because chase is waiting on what justin jefferson's contract will be and higgins isn't worth as much money as jaylen waddle's contract. if higgins gets a contract, it would be right around the amount that nico collins got.

This is a huge impact look at Trey he signed a 4-year deal and then three other people sign deals that are larger than his and now he doesn't want to play anymore because he's not one of the top three paid guys in the league. Jamar Chase will be the exact same scenario we're going to be paying Joe burrow and Jamar Chase 85 million a year half of the salary cap goes to two players One of them can't even stay on the field for an entire season

The way I see it is do you want to just be the next guy that gets paid the most for a few weeks and probably never hear of you again afterwards or do you want to be the guy that is not only making millions but also on a team that is on their way to win a superbowl and you and your family will forever be loved in Cincinnati and be treated like royalty for the rest of your life.
