My therapist once told me that we often give our family more leeway when they hurt us because they're our family and we're supposed to love them, but instead, we should really be holding them to a higher standard of respect because we're supposed to love each other. That really stuck with me for a long time

This was sooooo personal wow. I didn't think he would be this real with the situation down to the family text messages. I'm sorry society is very weird to people who are different. I think with time your mom would come around. it's just a shock to everyone. You're still the same person who has made amazing tv content. The day the world realizes some people are just gay the better. I hope everyone comes together ❤️

I'm gen x in the DEEP south from a VERY religious family and I have the better relationships with all the family members I grew under the older ones so I saw how they were raised and I was my own self the complete rebel and the younger ones ask will you still love me if I'm this or that and I tell them, my job is to love you not judge you, that's the message my Bible tells me.
