The WORST feeling EVER. Horrible. Now 12 years sober.

Currently trying to finally make this stop for good for me. I've withdrawn severaily I was placed in a medical center with alcohol induced pancreatitis. Now ill tell you that's the absolute worse pain I can explain apart from severe injury. On top i was hearing stuff, shaking, insomnia, and feeling everywhere tingle. Currently I'm over taking the bus to work and being soooo damn anxious and afriad to look someone in the eyes because I probably reak and havent slept all day. To the point I have to get off the bus to take a sip and calm down. Im over that and back on my day one and thankfully withdrawals are mild but the cravings man...

I've coughed up blood maybe three times. Been on the verge of three seizures according to paramedics and I've had one that I wasn't aware of until after the fact. All I know is I felt sweaty, really scared, anxious, my BP was high (felt like a terrible fever with chills) and my brain started blacking out like it was glitching before it happened. And also I felt like I couldn't breathe (which could have been bad anxiety also) but the lowest points of my life have been with alcohol. On and off struggle. I still struggle. It's not everyday anymore and it's surely not Vodka anymore. But I still drink beers every now and then to comfort myself because I'm just sad and lonely. I choose to be that way cause it's safe in the long run. People suck sometimes and I don't trust much anyone let alone myself. I think too much and it drives me nuts. It would be nice to be calm without alcohol but I'm not gonna ask for help because I've been treated like a horrible person when I only have a drinking problem. I've never been into street drugs or medication. Just alcohol. The system seems it is set up to create failure and shame in others sadly.

Can withdrawal also collapse the next day?

I've only been a daily drinking alcoholic for about 8 months and I've gradually lowered my daily intake over the last month to about 3-5 beers worth. I'm 29 and didn't drink before about 5pm at any point during the period of daily drinking. Do you think there's a good chance that I have a enough risk of seizures with the withdrawn that I shouldn't try to quit cold turkey? My case feels like it's on the border where I don't know whether my concern is justified or if it's just prolonging my dependence. I know ideally I'd seek medical assistance, but in practical terms, the financial, employment, social, and family consequences I'd be risking for that are huge considerations. As much as I'd to live in an understanding world that helps people bounce back from things like this, it's irresponsible to just act like I already live in that better world and take unnecessary risks. I'm just trying to make the decision with the lowest risk. Losing my job, going into medical debt, and/or harming my relationships with friends and family are very real risks if I decide to go through a medical detox program instead of doing it on my own. Unlike the world we refer to when we say "ideally, you should do this", the real world requires compromise and it feels like no one I can trust is willing to give me information or advice.

No useful help here in Australia. Sucks. You have to be super rich and spend loads on a nice rehab centre. Going to the free government rehab is detrimental to functioning alcoholics, most people there are only there to escape a jail sentence, the worst type of addicts. Even energy drinks had to banned, it's full of shitheads who should be in jail, stay away unless you want to graduate to harder drugs. I saw dealers pulling up smuggling drugs into the local rehab during my interview.

Been drinking for 14 years daily and I'm only 28. Had 1 seizure. How am i still alive?
