Lisa Bonet famously played Denis Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," daughter of Bill Cosby's Cliff Huxtable. At the time, Cosby was a sitcom superstar, standup comedian, pudding salesman, and enthusiastic professional role model. No celebrity had more to say about how life should be lived. And yet, today, despite his history or moralistic sermonizing over the years, Cosby is disgraced for drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women. So what does ex-TV-daughter Lisa Bonet have to say about her former faux-father? Though she was once tight lipped about the allegations, Bonet has now spoken her piece. This is how Lisa Bonet really feels about Bill Cosby today.

I don't think that Bill Crosby should have fired Lisa Bonet when she became pregnant. When Phylicia Rashad became pregnant, Cosby made it work for her with not showing any baby bump. Some of the writers on A Different World wanted to include the pregnancy. Cosby said no. I'm sure that they could do a hide the bump to make her able to continue. But Cosby didn't want that. He and Lisa did not always see eye to eye, that was why she got sent to the spin-off. Lisa did come back a couple of years later with a husband in the navy and a young stepdaughter.

That to me speaks more to power struggle than anything. Bill Cosby probably had more respect for Rashad than he did for Bonet. He could wrap his mind around a woman portraying his WIFE being pregnant-because he could frame it as his own doing on the show-but his tv daughter? That would have been completely out of his hands. And he wasn’t having that.

The reason the conviction was overturned though was because (from my understanding), he had given witness testimony where he admitted to a bunch of things in a civil case, where the agreement prior to the testimony being given was that it could not then be used in a criminal case. So legally, they couldn't use that evidence for a criminal case but they did, which is why it was overturned. It's not as if he didn't commit the crimes.

@@KevinShaughnessy-lf3vs I think you aren't really aware of how legal processes work. My understanding is that he only testified in the civil case ON CONDITION that evidence he gave could not be used in a criminal case, and if that was agreed to, then it can't. You have to understand people act differently around different people, so everyone has a different experience with the same person... it's not one way with all people; everybody is that way when it comes to their own lives... you have people you are show various sides of your personality towards... to some people you are a mean boss, to others you are a compassionate friend and then to others you are hasty and with some people you are nasty... it's common sense. When it comes to 'The Cosby Show', that's a job and great television with a script and characters presenting a great family with humor, tact, class, and overall experiences people go through in this country... it's just a great show with excellent actors and wonderful writing.

Was this about a conviction?? Without police reports, or medical records there is no identification of a victim, with a legal charge It isn't rape, assault or inappropriate behavior It is sixty women with names that aren't even remembered. Identified by a number ! Victim's aren't digits A mob mentality or a movement. Victim's don't identify themselves to social media It's a trauma, a psychological trigger. It can't be an opinion comment judgement or an amateur psychology Without being an extreme violation of a victim's individual rights! A deposition!! With only an intent to use quaaludes, that haven't existed in the world market since 1991 Without official medical records. A mistrial legally disposes of all statements, with evidence when it's found. It amounts to admitting a deposition with a use of drugs that don't exist, that's admitted as false evidence to be dismissed. Is that your technicality Lawsuits in civil litigation without limitations, can't be admitted in a criminal trial to replace statute laws, that don't identify a legal charge victim or suspect Without a motive of extortion! The supreme court can't overturn a verdict on a technicality It's the highest ruling!

The Bill Cosby Show was great show...changed things for the black actors etc, however I believe the accusations because of that period of time...he knew nothing would have been done about it, they would not believe the victims. I lived that era in the 60's and 70's they never believed the women...but things have changed.. I believe he did what the ladies said.

Well, There were no police reports or medical records, to identify a victim or a legal charge. It isn't recognized as a statute law! It's unlikely that the names, of sixty women, will be remembered, when they're thought of only as a random number. Not as individuals with rights after violating the individual rights of victims. Women with consensual, alleged non consensual returns, that can't explain deviant predator behavior. Women, that want attention from a wealthy man, with a motive of extortion. A promise not to prosecute before a deposition, that wasn't an admission isn't a technicality It's prosecutorial misconduct-with six perjuries. The supreme court can't overturn a verdict on a technicality It's the highest ruling

*Lisa Bonet should've taken the stance of her co-stars : She wasn't there and let the justice system do its thing. Nobody said he was innocent and the victims deserved to be heard. But she's letting past anger get in the way of being objective. I never liked her attitude even before this whole thing. She forgot it was him that gave her the fame in the first place*

I always felt that it was strange the way Bill Cosby was obsessed with trashing young black people in the way the way they dressed, spoke, taste in music almost always in a morally superior way. Whenever I see or hear anyone telling other people how they should live whether they are politicians, preachers and television evangelists or celebrities of any type I get very suspicious. My gut reaction is to say what are you trying to cover up about yourself. To me if you are really a good decent person you should not feel the need to advertise it , you should just let your life speak for itself

Identify by a number; Please!! Victims aren't digits A victim is an individual, with rights! Not a. mob mentality or a movement Statute laws can't identify a victim suspect or a legal charge Victims don't announce themselves to social media, It's a trauma , a psychological trigger. It can't be an opinion/ comment or amateur psychology Without being a violation of rights !!
