I have/had Lyme (and who the heck knows what else, as I am still in agony some mornings), and had the tick embedded in my skin for 5 days because, like an idiot, I thought it was a "weird-looking" spider bite or poison. It took 10 months of failing health (stiff neck/heart palpitations/air hunger/joint-muscle pain/fatigue/ringing ears/memory loss/slew of other odd symptoms) to figure out it was Lyme Disease. Anyways, my nephew had a tiny tick attached for 2 hours and approximately 2 weeks later got a bullseye rash in that exact location (my sister circled it with marker). If you develop any kind of strange physical symptoms after removing a tick, which end up causing you to think you are dying or growing old too fast, you most likely have a tick borne disease.
