Sa Calobra, the famous 9.4km Mallorcan climb and renowned training ground for pro cyclists, where Tom Pidcock set an eye-watering Strava KOM time of 22:46 He maintained a 24.9km/h pace up the vicious 7% climb, but how long can Ollie and Alex hold his rapid speed? Will they get dropped early or cling on?

About a minute. Maybe a little more if I'm fresh. But that's a one-off effort, not a pacing up a category one climb.

I got you all beat. During a tour of the island in 2009, going from Alcudia to Port de Soller, I had an AMAZING ride down to Sa Calobra under dark, angry clouds. As I was preparing for the climb back up after a short rest, the heavens opened and it started POURING rain, with lightning and thunder booming. Pretty soon, there was a river of water coming down the road. So I took all of my courage, and the little Spanish I could speak, and asked a tour bus driver that was getting ready to leave to drive me back up the climb... So it took me about 10 minutes - crying all the way up because I wasn't going to do it on the bike. It was just too dangerous with the weather at that point. But man, just going down that 270 degree switchback at the top and then doing the descent was a highlight of this trip! And doing 24kph average going up is INSANE (although I am 16kg heavier than Tom - yeah, that's my excuse :) )!

As a tall chap (203cm) who loves to climb, I'd have to do 650w. Not ideal. But the pacing point is an interesting one. Either way, a very entertaining video and more hill climb challenges please!

Tom had serious team Ineos leadout, you should try to keep his tempo at last 2-3 kms, that would be more doable.
