there was supposed to be a third sequence album that tied the three together that never had the chance to be made it would’ve been called “til infinity” to make all three albums make out “swimming in circles til infinity” which is the reoccurring theme in swimming and circles and would’ve been in the third. mac had a musical genius it’s truly tragic his life was cut so short he had a lot more coming

So crazy that you mention it. I've been struggling with mental health all my life and it got significantly worse after I got bullied in grammar school for years. I moved to the other side of my country to get away from all the toxic shit. I only really started listening to Mac's music and interviews around four months ago when I moved here (thank god, his death would have broken me back then, there's not a day where I don't think about him now). Even though his life's so different I have never felt so deeply understood. Never has music hit such a deep connection although it's always been my coping mechanism. Whenever I feel like I'm absolutely alone in this world I sit outside on the fire escape stairs outside my appartement and listen to circles and suddenly I feel embraced, held and understood. I found him when I really needed him and I just wish he was here to live a little longer and not end up the way he never wanted to end up. But I deeply believe he knew deep down.

I had a good friend named Jeremy. We used to call him Big Jerm before we even knew Mac Millers producer at Rostrum was Big Jerm. Jeremy was 7 years older than I, and couldn't get into newer music(This was around 2012). I showed him Mac. He loved it. We used to sing Senior Skip Day and Knock Knock at work acapella. I felt honored that he included Mac in his personal music repertoire. Jeremy unexpectedly passed away on January 19th 2019(Mac's birthday) four months after Mac passed. Jeremy was an avid poker player throughout his life. At his ceremony his brother handed out poker cards to everyone out of a brand new deck and see what you draw and keep it. I got 3 and 7. August 3rd Swimming release date. Sept. 7th- Death. The two are forever intertwined/synonymous in my mind. The nostalgia I get from listening to Mac reminds me of both of them and it's an over whelming feeling of emotions to be honest. Life is crazy. Keep your head up everyone. We've only just begun. edit: Another song Jeremy loved that we used to sing acapella at work was Circles by Soul Coughing(Check it out!). Then Mac's last album is called Circles. Life is still crazy.

I've been a Mac fan for decades. He always felt like that friend you wished you could have done or said more too before they passed. I feel if he had people around him who valued him as a human being and not his material wealth we could still celebrate with him today. It's been 4 years and not a single day goes by I don't think about Malcolm. His brother. This mother and father. When I first watched this video it made me sob like a child, even if it's just a theory. I believe it's something he full well would have done intentionally the man was musically blessed and a genius. It was nothing short of magic to watch his progression and cadence over the years. @@terrytwo we're talking about a suicidal rapper, not just any person. "the day I die on will turn me to an icon". He says that and it comes off sarcastic imo. Then there's "I wash these pills down with liquor and fall". How many coincidences will it take? He's rapping about dying the exact way he dies years before he died. You can pretty much pin point when mac shifted into this kinda talk to about 8 years ago, around the same time he slipped into the deep depression because of the criticism he was getting.

@@terrytwo "trying not to join the 27 club", then dies at 26. Don't take my word for it. Go back and listen to the music. All of it. Plug in the idea to swimming and circles. GO:OD am coincidentally spells go od. There's nothing you could tell me otherwise. The last 6 years of his life he spent rapping about dying, should've died already, longing for closure on what happens in death. Plug the idea into the titles of songs. "Ascension" "come back to earth" "stay". Im not saying it's a happy thought. I'm not saying I'm glad he's gone. It just seems to me that he had been ready to go for a long time, and the fact that he rapped about exactly how he died doesn't come off as coincidental. "That fentanyl it numb me"... So the OD was his first exposure to the substance or? "I wash these pills down with liquor and fall" anyone who does opiates knows the two don't mix. "Drug habit like Seymour Hoffman will put me in a coffin", then literally dies on the same mix Seymour Hoffman died from. I mean, come on my guy. Literally every song is about him dying. What really hits it home is that line "it's a shame my tragedy my masterpiece"... I don't know how many more of these I need to point out to get my point across. Let's say it wasn't on purpose for argument sake, he was ready to go at the very least. And personally, I wouldn't be the one to demand a tortured soul stay longer than they can bare because I want their music. It's hard to understand why someone so successful would want to leave, but I think he made it pretty obvious he didn't want to stay. "Well I'm way too young, to be getting old" Suspend your disbelief

According to a close friend of Mac’s, John Geiger, a designer from Pittsburgh, there was supposed to be a third album. The title was supposed to be “Til Infinity” completing the trilogy of “Swimming in Circles Til Infinity.” Inferring from the three singles he dropped before Swimming released, which were each focused on singing, rapping and a mix of both, Til Infinity would have been the rap focused album. A truly amazing mind that was taken far far too soon. Fly high Pittsburgh Kid.

Got introduced to him by a good friend and listened to a few songs and enjoyed those few but I guess it needs a special person to really make you dive deep into the music of an artist since you also connect this person to the artist and songs. Met this person and he's a huge Mac Fan. Even if it’s unintentional, still amazing to see his last album connect to the large circle of his entire music career. Rest in peace mac, you will always be loved.

his whole life was a circle and the point where a circle ends is the same as it starts, his history will never end. 92 to infinity!! rest easy bro

I found it interesting how the album is "Circles: til Infinity"- celebrating Mac's final album, his music, and his life forever. But if you remove the ':' it becomes- "Circles til infinity"- which means a loop forever- which is what the album is symbolic of. It's crazy how one means the celebration of his life, and the other is symbolic of his life. Beautiful.

I discovered Mac Miller with his last album and on my worst time, even gone he helped me with my mental struggles, I would have liked to know him earlier, R.I.P.

Love how the ending of the album sounds dark like night, “once a day I fall,” and starts bright like day, “once a day I rise.” Mac really was a musical genius and we were all so lucky to be able to hear his music and watch him grow. Gone too too soon.

This hit me harder than anything in a really long time. Studio sessions and time months into the end of this hurt to re live, yet I know how important it is to keep the life and memories of this project alive for as long as we can. Thank you so much for putting this together, and for drawing the connections.

Last year I went to the Pittsburgh pop up event for the release of the album circles. The team put my fan art up in the gallery and they had a private listening room, that was where I listened to the album for the first time. When the album finished, I had a similar thought of it feeling incomplete. At the time I felt incomplete (I was struggling with my own addictions) I listened to the album on repeat on an 8 hour flight back home. It wasn’t until this day where I finally understand it was always complete. Quite recently I finally gained control of my life again and I’m free of my addictions. I finally feel complete too. It’s crazy to me that one year later it all came full circle.... thank you for making this video. Rest In Peace Mac Miller.

That final chord on circles also fits nicely with the start of swimming.

Absolutely deliberate. I’m so happy you made this video. You put into words what I already knew in my soul from listening. It’s almost like that last song on circles feels like an ending, or nighttime/sleep, and the first song feels like early morning, just waking up. Mac will always be one of the most amazing musicians to ever live. God bless you all

So I rarely if ever leave KZfaq comments but I believe this is worth sharing. When I was getting ready to move away for college my Grandfather, who I was very close with, was dying. After I said goodbye to him for what I knew would be the final time, I played So It Goes on my walk home (we lived down the street at the time). Aside from the general tone and sentiment of the song, I never knew why I played it as I didn't listen to it frequently, but I'll never forget it. Learning about Mac's intentions with the outro on So It Goes at 2:08 literally made me cry because I just now learned that it was meant to represent ascension to heaven for the first time a year and a half later. Great video, and thank you for helping me to learn about this, as it brings new meaning to So It Goes which I now know having listened to wasn't a coincidence.
