What about some of the players, who are simply not good enough, and the complete lack of structure, still no DOF in place, new CEO yet to start, not to mention years of minimal investment from the worst owners in the history of the club. You say a manager of just two seasons, is the reason our club is in the position it is in!! No more rinse and repeat manager swops. Give the guy time, you might look at how long it took SAF to get it right, two 11th positions in his first three seasons, just as well we gave him the time eh?

Still see a massive risk here , McKenna has a lot of potential but theres still elements in the squad that undermined ,leaked against and disrespected KM the last time he was here. Doesn't take much for some of those to have a word with teammates that McKenna isn't up to it or doesn't deserve their respect. Not sure that type of up and coming manager is the ideal fit right now before INEOS have reset the culture and more importantly cleared out the squad. Hopefully they will do but to be determined on that. And still just seems poor form the general coverage of this ; from the media and these sorts of discussions and analysis could have happened after the final. Somewhat concerning that , i'd expect INEOS or someone close to them let these media storms loose this week ; expected a bit more class than that regardless if you want ETH to stay or go. Like other media storms they let run throughout the season , why allow such distractions then or the lead up to a final.

@@thetwistedfirestarter like the first time the identities rarely come out in such instances so its not so easy to find and remove the exact culprit / toxic influences that try and often can poison parts of the squad beyond them. Most of those you named left when their contracts expired rather than being found out and removed. Let hope INEOS actually proper clear-out and reset the culture sooner rather than later otherwise the risk on such a gaffer goes up considerably. Especially with parts of the squad still here from when KM was Ole's assistant , so if not the direct culprits still could have been influenced by them at the time.

@@thetwistedfirestarter time will tell , INEOS' first major act seems to be removing ETH who has his share of the blame and flaws but this squad as much or more to blame imo for this season. Lets hope the clearout goes way beyond the gaffer otherwise it will feel like more of the same of the previous era. Tbd on that but if they fail to ruthlessly clear out , its showing much more of a blaming and scapegoating of a gaffer rather than the squad who deserves it just as much. But to be determined , this summer will reveal a lot in that respect.

@@thetwistedfirestarter keeping them and paying their wage does absolutely nothing to help FFP either. There is a market for a number of our fringe / on the wane players. Maguire , Scott , Casemiro (Saudi) , Mason , Jadon , AWB , Lindelof etc. Thats more than enough funds right there to increase our budget considerably. Lets see if INEOS have the appetite and are up to it ; otherwise the easy choice of removing the gaffer and mostly foreign big earners out of contract or nearly out of contract is basically more of the same.

Actually Rashford should leave before Ten Hagg. He has seen the back of about 4 coaches ( including ETH) already. If Mckenna is stupid enough to depend on him like the other coaches, he would have already failed before even starting. Southgate was smart to drop him.

We have some decent players in the academy that need promotion into the first team ASAP. Maxi Oyedele could have bailed out Casemiro this season if he wasn’t sent on loan. Oguneye is far physical for his age, and far a better player than Wan Bissaka.

Alice you are too smart to say McKenna is going play a high press and then put Rashford in on the left. You know you cannot play a high press with Rashford in the lineup. You can have one(Rashford) or the other(high press)but you cannot have both. ETH was pretty hopeless and it’s no surprise Ineos let him go. The Ipswich guy may be okay……..but he has a lot of egos to deal with at Utd. McKenna could be good given time. With a 35 mill budget, sell off the high earners and buy young championship players that he will know, accept no Europe for couple of years and that might do it. Didn't fergie take 4 years to win?
