So, ETH's criticism shouldn't be "He can't do it OR he is clueless" It should be "Why didn't he do it earlier" Now, imagine the same system with Martinez playing out from the back. Dalot driving into the space from RB instead of Wan Bissaka and have a new no.6 who is capable of playing progressive passes from deep and also covering the ground and winning duels in place of Amrabat. A new CB capable of pushing the line even higher and being more ruthless than Casemiro or Varane could be. Added to that, in-form Rashford on the wing. I mean even Poch needed 34 game weeks to figure out Cucurella must invert and form a double pivot for more protection and at the same time, have the attacking players in their favourable positions. The only reason I can think of as to why ETH didn't do this earlier is because he didn't trust the personnel to play this style. That's all. The fact that we criticise Chelsea for spending alot but then most of our fans would take Caicedo, Badiashille, Disasi (backup), Gusto (maybe backup), Gallagher, Palmer, Madueke (maybe backup), Jackson, Nkunku etc etc. The point being even if Chelsea's squad is young, the personnel is brilliant because they have got young talented players the only downside being overpaying, getting too many of them and inexperience. If we get the right profile of players in, ETH has enough capability to play not only great football but also winning football. I have high hopes from INEOS for the transfer window, more so for departures because only that will pave a way for great deals for young talented players

Still think we were better OOP. More compact, allowed dalot to join the press when we did press, but generally more often then not, went back into a midblock, which is where we've always been best from.

I am seeing steady progress in last two games with our possession game. Although cutting edge is still missing but I am expecting that with injury comebacks. At last we are seeing something steady. I am also noticing Erik ten hag moving to more possession based tactics rather than basketball approach.

Real shame we've waited till the end of the season to set up in a decent manner and actually play like a sensible team. Also, it is disappointing that the likes of Amad and Amrabat were never given a consistent run to grow into the team earlier, while the other players were so badly out of form. Injuries or not, this feels like a wasted season by the manager, who seemed more hellbent on proving his transition system can work, instead of being more humble and adopting a more organized but still attacking system. I hope never to see the basketball setup ever again.

united play the same team for 3 or 4 matches in a row for the first time this season and they played better each time, they played Palace and look stupid, almost the same squad started against Arsenal, lost nut looked better, add Bruno and you can see the tactics, the constant 4 and 5 changes each match due to weekly injuries prevented that all season. If ETH get the players he want, the first choices, then he can really build a monster team

amad was dealing with a serious injury for most of the season, and amrabat was dealing with a series of smaller ones. i don't think amrabat is still fully fit look at how he struggles to run with almost any attacker who has ran at him the past 2 games. he is getting by with good positioning and releasing the ball quickly. outside of these 2 and mason mount the rest of the team suits the transition game better. it's a team building issue from many managers past so what you have now is a frankenmonster with most of its parts injured this season.

If you notice long ball to the centre is too risky. SAF always play long balls to either side not centre.

This is why I wanted to see Sancho as the false 9. False 9 is the right system for our inverted forwards who are primarily goalscorers than creators. Bruno would have taken Mctominay's position 😔 sad we never got to see it after preseason

With the midfield of amrabat and Maino even when we get caught in possession it’s feel like the midfield don’t be wide open as before and that because they both play slow that allows the team to get into a better possession … so i would like too see the wide player put in some crosses

Onana, Dalot and Evans were also good. The team seemed a bit more disciplined than usual. Maybe Rooneys comments earlier this week had an impact!?

Nice to see some CHANGE of tactics and personnel. I did wonder why, despite the greater number of midfielders, there still was not more possession, and so many longer balls from deep. But perhaps that would come if there was more time to work that, and anyway, as you suggest, the longer balls might be fully part of the great plan. Er... Amad - at last it is clearer! Bruno - closest to world class in the squad. But I feel sorry for Amrabat, as only now - far too late in the season - is his value becoming apparent (though he might have given that ghost penalty away. Phew!) I always thought that he simply needed the confidence of a bit of a run in his correct position, in this club - the biggest that has ever signed him. Two more games and he's gone... Ho hum. But, anyway, UTD still looked like a City side would dismember them without too much trouble, if they are really in the mood. Wonder if the gods will allow all the talent coming back from injury to bear influence positively - without any more terrifying basketball - and also maybe deliver a few blue injuries as well before Wembley. And what if West Ham sorted them out in their final game, too? One can dream... So, the last game vs intelligent passers, Brighton - who blew UTD away at OT, remember? - is really an audition for this New Look. A Grand Finale beckons

Newcastle had more and better chances. We have won that game because Newcastle couldn't finish. That shouldn't take anything away from our win but throwing phrases like really good and brilliant around isn't really helping our case. Some things might have been a little more organized, but the outcome was more or less the same, we invited too many shots from good positions. Given the lineup, we have done well - bad luck for the Magpies if they aren't good enough in front of goal. It is one thing to be happy about it, the other thing is drawing wrong conclusions from it.

Ole's two recruits of Bruno & Maguire that got Ole the sack, of course they have the 'Captain's Curse' & they are still at the Club, Joke Thing, Right! Bruno known has the 'Invisible Man' went MIA in the Europa final by holding Cavani's hand that cost us. Suitable replacement would be Nicolo Barrella. Get Rid ASAP!
