How many clothes do you ACTUALLY need for your baby? I'm going through my daughter's weekly laundry pile to help you build a newborn capsule wardrobe (0-3 months). It really surprised me how little clothing we actually used in the beginning. Make sure you watch until the end to find out how many clothes we used versus how many clothes we had! This is what I would suggest to get started:
1) 5 sleep n' plays w/ zippers
2) 3 short sleeve onesies
3) 3 long sleeve onesies
4) 2-3 pairs of pants (for colder months)
5) 2 pairs of socks
This amount of clothing would be plentiful to get started. Of course, you can buy a few cute outfits for photos & memories. I did laundry once a week as well!

I do the 7,2r rule for clothes.......one for every single day and 2 for emergency travels or staying out ......it worked with everything and I’m grateful I followed that rule......a real money saver

Even the 2 supplementary ones weren’t used and I gave them as gifts to my cousins at the end of the day but it helped me reduce washing because I knew I would need them so I did laundry often to reduce doing so much laundry at the end of the week

I had to refrain from buying so many cute girl outfits when I was pregnant with my daughter because I knew we wouldn’t need a lot and they outgrow them so quickly. Your baby is adorable

First off, CONGRATS💕 That's very exciting! I'm so glad you found this video helpful! I know it can be easy to go overboard while nesting (been there, done that lol), but you really don't need that much to take care of a baby in the beginning. Our daughter is 9 months now, and she still lives in her sleep n' plays! We rotate through the same 6 jammies every week. I will make sure to check out your channel too xo😊

Just important to remember if your baby does explosive poops or has reflux it's good to have those spare items :)

Thank you, this was the first usefull prep video I have watched since becomming pregnant. I had the feeling newborns dont need much, but then after watching some "pintrest" moms getting ready, I get overwhelmed and start panic buying.

Your baby is so sweet!! Mine went thru more but they also ended up with acid reflux so basically threw up all day on themselves and on me 😔 its hard to really know but best to be prepared!

Hey, Elaine! I would love to make a video like that😊 I remember doing laundry 1x per week when Gigi was younger. I started doing laundry 2x a week as she became more mobile (~15 months). I also wash my clothes with my daughter’s in the same load of laundry for double duty & I definitely rewear the same outfits to cut down on laundry🧺

@@elainezhu7780 This worked well for us until she was around 4/5 months! We mostly started out with 0-3 month clothes (instead of newborn) as well. I like to follow the 7x2 rule = 7 outfits for each day of the week plus 2 outfits for accidents. I have a couple of capsule wardrobe videos on my channel that might be helpful too✨

Hey, Alessandra! We mostly used 0-3 month sizes when our daughter was born. We had about 5 newborn size onesies, but she quickly outgrew them within the first 3-4 weeks. Hope that helps! Totally recommend Carter’s clothes😊💕

My babe wore 2 a day one outfit and one sleeper. She’s 2 months and still in newborn clothes and diapers. I barley bought any newborn stuff or the reason they’re not in it long.

I Didn't buy any newborn size clothes cause some of the clothes seems so small in 0-3 months. Should i buy anything in newborn size? Or 0-3 months will fit anyway?

I felt the same way - so tiny! I had about 5 newborn onesies and a newborn “coming home” outfit, but my daughter mostly wore 0-3 month clothing from the day she was born. They were a little big for the first month, but definitely got more wear out of them as she grew! I’d mostly go with 0-3 month clothing. Hope that helps✨

I was worried I didn’t have enough because I’m tend to be a minimalist for financial reasons, but turns out I have the perfect amount, no need to stress over not having the “right” amount!

It’s good to start off simple! I remember being so stressed about getting everything “right” before baby’s arrival (...the hormones probably😆). I realized babies really don’t need much in the beginning! Food, clean diapers, & lots of love💗

Hey, Laure! I know it probably sounds crazy, right?🙊 I was surprised to learn that newborns do not need as frequent bathing as adults because it can disrupt their skin's protective barrier that works to fight infection. We did a lot of spot cleaning though (face/neck) for milk dribble inbetween baths.
