I really like your take/approach on some of these common questions we all have as computer enthusiasts. Loving the content and the jokes. Keep up the great work. Forgot to add. I would like to see how these chips perform not by just gaming but how a normal user would use. Which could be 3-4 different programs at the same time like playing music and having a voice chat program up or streaming at the same time and having more than one screen. Which is why I have an 8 core chip.

I've been building gaming pc's for 20+ years and core clocks, memory speed and latency are more of a factor when trying to get the most performance from your gpu. And most modern titles are just starting to take advantage of multi cores as most games has been single core driven for years in fact even a 6/12t in today's standards is more than enough in AAA games.

Great video thanks. You need to try out Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and run the tests on that. As they optimise the game it will be interesting to see what gains we get. I’d love to see you playing MSFS!

I'm planning to build my first PC in the next few days. Finding AMD Ryzen 5s have been very hard. Would you be able to conduct a similar test with Intel CPUs, which tend to be higher in supply.

For Cyberpunk to be properly tested you'd need to go to the Corpo areas where the NPC and vehicle count is much higher. Nice video though. Was interesting to see the result.

Cyberpunk is running fine on my 3600x with a 3070 at 1440p. I’ve tweaked some of the RT and DLSS settings and have no issues at all with it after the latest updates.

Writing from California: Great video and yes, I would like to see a similar topic like this on more mid-tier and budget CPU's. Especially, helpful to those considering a budget laptop and needing to get a baseline of how various budget CPUs perform for basic gaming. Also amazing that the 5600x performs well at 80% or so utilization on Cyberpunk with 2 cores disabled. Take care, Ravi Peiris M.D.

I've noticed in Division 2 that my 6 core rigs 8700K and 10400 have been stuttering a bit. My 8 core 3700X build has no issues. So is 8 core now the new standard for gaming?

So it’s impossible to find a 5900x at msrp, however the 5800x chips are now in stock msrp. For playing Warzone on a 1440p 144hz monitor while streaming down scaled to 1080p @ 60fps using obs do you recommend grabbing the 5800x or waiting for the 5900x? If you want to see my current performance using a 4core i7 I have my stream vods on my channel... I definitely need to upgrade.

Question; I have the AMD Ryzen 7 5800x 8-Core Processor as well with the RTX3070. Does it work better with windows 11 or windows 10? I had windows 10, upgraded, and every since I feel like my gaming quality just isnt as good? I'm new to playing on PC and have spent weeks working with in game and PC settings trying to get the best out of my gaming experience. I also want to be able to create content and stream, but my FPS isnt the greatest and I deal with a lot of lagging at times on my stream. Any advice or help would be appreciated. I've been following your page for a long time. Thanks again.

I think to do a true test you need more programs running in the background. ie a gamer might normally have a media player for MP3s running in the background, or a KZfaq talking clip, and also Discord for chat. How does that affect the need for cores?

Hey, i was wondering if someone could help me, my computer was running slow and would barely open a photo for some random reason so me being me I hit the reset button on my case next to my power button, it brought me to this blue screen that says bad_config_info and when i try to reboot it or anything it says this C/Windows/system32/logfiles/srt/srttrail.txt now there are plenty of youtube videos that say to use command prompt and do /bootrec fixmbr and such but none of those work. Should I just unplug the ssd my windows is installed on then re install windows onto another ssd then just replug in my old one??

Hitman 3 has a setting to take advantage of having 8 cores and above on CPUs. It is remiss of this video not to mention that, and although we can only speculate if that will come to other games, it is something people should be aware of in choosing a gaming CPU. (edited after 3 likes, I previously stated this was only for Intel, but the game setting makes no such distinction).

Hi there. Is OK to pair 3600XT/5600X with RTX 3080/3090, maybe 3080ti for 4K rtx ultra, Dlls auto in Cyberpunk and other games like that or maybe Call of duty? Thanks. So far I know, at 4K resolution will be no difference between R5 and R7/R9 or Intel echivalents. The screen will be CX 65" Oled.

Hello there! Stupid question, around the 11:35 mark, you mentioned that the test were done at 1440p, and that if played with 1080p, we'd need a better CPU. I thought it was the other way round? I'm still learning and would just like to clarify this! Thanks a lot! Great videos! Really helps with learning about PC parts especially this year!

The higher the res the lower the cpu demand relative to the GPU. 1080p 360hz gaming is much more cpu intensive than 4k 60

I am playing 5600x, Rtx 3060 Ti, Aorus b550 elite mb. In cyberpunk I am at 72 - 78°C on all cores in peak. High/ultra, 4K. Is that too much for processor or are they built to handle such temperature? Thanks in advance!

Any new CPU can handle 100 plus centigrade! But The Cpu will reduce the clock speeds to lower the temperature if cpu reaches threshold( may be 90 degrees centigrade) and below 80 is okay!

A more scientific and clearer approach would have been binning the clocks to something around 4 Ghz which all CPUs can reach easily. This is because across all the CPUs as the 5900x does boost a bit more than the other two. The 5300x simulation was good though!
