As long as they are being taken care of and not “neglected”, I don’t really care. They’re not my cars. It is nice to think that someday these cars will emerge and we will get to see what these F40s were like new, but decades later. Think of it as saving them for a future generation.

I think it's hilarious that in the early 2000s, collectors wanted the most basic specs. Rosso Crosa with tan interior. Now, collectors want the most unique, and rarest specs. If they kept the yellow car yellow, it would be worth at least 50% more

As a 51 year old I am so glad they exist in the first place. The 80's/90's super cars are my era. However I feel it's a crying shame so many are locked away. I once saw a Ducati 851 Super bike (New out at the time) being ridden through London in the snow. We were like dude it's snowing. He said "If I just wanted to look at it, I'd have bought a Picasso." I'll never forget that saying.

I'm from Brunei and I can honestly say I've never seen any of these cars on the road. So it's safe to assume that they're most likely still in storage

I've had that grey F40 the DK Engineering had/has as my phone background for months and only just realised that it's RHD!

One is actually in the UK and was owned by the late great Jimmy Saville. It had custom body panels added which disguised it to look exactly like the humble Vauxhall Astra, and it was repainted as beige over brown (luxury velour). After Jimmy was found out to be a bit of a lad, the car was uncovered, given a £15 mini valet at the local Polish car wash (during which 4 pairs of suspiciously small underpants were found under the passenger seat), and sent to Bradford car auctions. Unsurprisingly, due to its understated nature, there was little bidding interest to begin with. But once knowledge of the underseat treasure trove was made public, bidding went throught the roof. The hammer dropped at £350 and the mystery buyer was said to be planning to use it to deliver takeaways. So if you're in the Bradford area and you order a curry that gets there in a hurry, savour it, as it may have been delivered in the famous Saville F40.

I work at Brabus and I get to see a lot of crazy cars and crazy customers who tell stories about their cars. You wouldn’t believe where In the world you can find insane car collections that nobody knows about. For example some of the poorest countries in Africa have Paganis, Koenigsegg or Bugatti’s. Or Turkmenistan, Tadschikistan or even our dear friend Kim Jong-un in North Korea. You wouldn’t believe it.

It's been said by people who have met the Brunei royals that they have no idea what thing realy cost. They are very sheltered. Don't envy them. It's a shame they don't get driven, but then again this is quite common in the Ferrari community. The Sultan's brother is the one buying all the cars. The Sultan has the world's only station wagon Ferrari 456 GT as well as many other Rolls Royce and Bentley wagons. Usually built by Pininfarina. Thanks.

As much as i don't like cars being stored in garages for their entire life and never getting used to their intended potential, in the Sultan of Brunei's case, i think that is what makes them so special. The fact that no one outside of Pininfarina and the Brunei royal family have ever seen these cars, and having literally zero miles on them makes them so much cooler. The best part about the car collection in Brunei is not only the vast expanse and rarity of it but also the entire secrecy surrounding it, just makes for a great research project.

The 'zero' mileage reading is bullshit, every F40 has it's factory test track mileage on it. I have driven one of those RHD F40's and it was a terrible conversion, it would have been better to have left them LHD, it simply did not work out ergonomically.
