Honestly, their entire beef and disdain was always because of a huge misunderstanding of every situation and the fear of feeling of being abandoned by their father figure. After letting out all that anger and understanding each other’s POV, they’re really not that different. They’re the new Daniel and Johnny but these two solved their issue a lot earlier for them to be good step-bros.

It's funny how Robby teases Johnny about his fatherly advice to Miguel, when in the previous seasons, Robby probably would have had a breakdown and argument with Johnny. Although it's cool everything coming full circle from Season 1 to Season 5.

The greatest rivalry story ever told. These two hardly had any scenes together for 5 seasons, but their story was told through others. Their story was told through Johnny, Daniel, Kreese, Silver, Tory, Sam, through all the other characters with the constant reminder of, "Johnny failing as a father. Johnny caring for Miguel as a son. Daniel taking Robby under his wing. Kreese taking Robby under his wing, and so on." A great story told by others.

Robby has been my favorite character since season 1. The showrunners really took a shit on him in season 5, he lost basically every fight he was in against trained fighters

Something I’ve noticed on my rewatch of all 5 seasons is in season 1 Johnny was actually putting Robby before Miguel a lot of the time. If Robby needed him he’d come. But Robby just kept pushing him away & towards Miguel. So I hope next season that & the drunken “I love u to Robby” can be addressed since it wasn’t this season like I had originally thought it would

Cobra Kai is so great due to them being able to have great characters from the old cast and than the "new generation" cast. We actually care about them, compared to other series where we could care less about the new characters.

This might be an unpopular opinion but the Mexico trip was more important for Robby instead of Miguel. First it helped Robby to see his father from a different perspective. Later he saw how Miguel's situation was and that he just wanted one father figure in his life, something he also was looking for. He accepted the Miguel and Johnny connection like you said ('You two have your thing'). The fight in 5x05 was way more important for Miguel. He needed to experience the same anger and hate like Robby did in the school fight. It was clear that he stopped fighting after he saw himself falling. Never let this happen again. And there is even one more thing to add. Robby was way more calm this season. He was more like a MiyagiDo student even before he rejoined the dojo. He wasn't looking for a fight. His face in 5x04 when the other dojos started fighting was a face of disgusting. After Miguel said to Tory that both dojos can't be at the same waterpark he literally said to Tory that they should leave. He was avoiding any confrontation. The same goes for the Miguel vs Robby fight in 5x05. His face didn't really show any interest in fighting Miguel after Johnny wanted them to do. Only after Miguel said no problem for me. He wasn't striking first. He waited till Miguel started. Even when he swiped Miguel's leg downstairs he waited till Miguel got back up and he let his guard down till they could continue fighting. It's not very obvious when you watch this scene's for the first time or if you're only interested in the outcome. But it's great acting and great writing.

Daniel really was the best thing to happen to Robby, he was supportive of him and clearly didn't mind the obvious romance between Robby and his daughter. getting him sent to juvie was for his own good but sadly yeah, Robby messed up. I can't remember exactly but I personally choose to believe he went to the dojo hoping to find Daniel to continue their training/mentorship but seeing Sam and Miguel just pushed him too far. (I haven't watched season 3 in a long time so can't remember if that was his actual reason)

I loved Robby and Miguel as Best friends and brother so much. Their chemistry is amazing and I always knew if they got along they would be very good friends. Hope they keep their brother relationship in S6 they ended so tight. Loved seeing Miguel protective of Robby and defending him.

Seeing the school fight, it reminded me how lucky I was that I got into Cobra Kai in late 2020. I only had to wait a few months for Season 3, rather than 2 years!

Season 5 was a lot bolder than what I expected. Is nice to see how these rivalries are turning into associations and friendships. Robbie and Miguel have come a long way in their journey on the show and is time for the once rivals to now be willing to come to each other’s aid as in season 5 dojo fight. Honestly at first viewing of season 5 I was disappointed in Miguel search for his father storyline but then I started to see it played crucial parts in Robbie/Johnny bonding and Robbie/Miguel bonding although we had to wait for Robbie/Miguel payoff.. honestly in a near future video I hope you dive into the Robbie/Hawk Rivalry. While it wasn’t billed as one of the bigger rivalries of the show, I think it is important and very deep once you take a real good look at it.

I absolutely love Robby and Miguel as brothers and am hoping Sam and Tory can get there eventually as well. The four of them all fighting on the same side is so so awesome lol

I won't speak to Miguel, because he's actually had it pretty good since the show. But Robby from the start of the show had nothing. Terrible friends, parents that abandoned him and was alone. So it made sense why he was hostile, angry, and acted out so much. Look how far he's come. He's now got real good friends, he's got a strong family life now. A sensei/mentor in Daniel. And a good girlfriend in Tory. He's actually a lot like Miguel, when his lifestyle is stable. Same thing with Tory. Her getting with Robby and Amanda befriending her, really started changing her demeanor and how she behaved. She just needed healthy relationships to show her the world isn't out to hurt her, and she doesn't have to fight everyone in it. Sometimes people just need someone to reach other to those that are troubled, like Tory and Robby. You can argue they're the strongest characters in the show in a lot of ways. Robby and Tory are willing to sacrifice themselves for others. I'm glad Miguel and Robby are on the same side. Some thought Robby was irredeemable, which made no sense to me. He was never bad, he was troubled and angry. Big difference.

In season 1 when robby want to visit his dad he saw Johnny Hugging Miguel and to me it seem like he only hated him just a little bit but most of it was for his dad otherwise during the tournament robby wouldn't gave a hand to help Miguel up despite what happened during the last episode between them.

I am surprised with how well Miguel and Robby got along after their go around at the apartment complex. And as the episodes progressed after their fight I slowly became cool with it (yeah, I never thought I'd hear myself say that). I wouldn't say that the waterpark was a miscommunication since Robby knowingly helped escalate the fight that Kenny started, that's why Miguel pushed Robby.

I know its cheesy now but props to Miguel for being the most mature and level headed character in the show.. for most of the people it would have been easy to get into the temptation of getting back but the way Miguel controlled himself and forced himself to not do what Robby did to him was beautiful... That's why he's. My fav character not because he is the top dog again which the fight proved but because of his genuinely good heart...props to Carmen and Rosa for teaching him that.. just like Carmen welcomes Robby at their home .....he got it from her.... While I do wish that their rivalry was highlighted a little more, and not pushed to the side for Sam and Tory, I do like that they made up. But I would’ve liked it if the apologies haven’t been so one sided. I mean, all Miguel had done was also be kinda antagonistic towards Robby. I mean, Miguel cheap shotted Robby at the beach, went after his bad arm during the tournament (went they were suppose to go back to their neutral corners.) attacked him first during the school fight, and taunted him about Johnny. But I guess that’s just more of a nitpick of mines. If everyone had to start going on an apology tour (going all the way back to season 1.) we’d need an extra season just for that. Lol. But also, I would’ve liked it if it had been highlighted more that Miguel and Robby were working together more. I would’ve loved it if they had their own version of the Raid fight, and had a Mad Dog type of fight. Or even a Caption America and Bucky vs Iron Man type of fight.

Going back to your comments on 503 at Cobra Kai Kompanion podcast, I agree that I would have liked more Mexico content, and an answer to the following question: Did Robby or Miguel ride shotgun for the drive back?

I pray they stay like this. And their rivalry never start again. Like if Sensi Kim doing something like messing with Miguel /Sam and Robby and tory relationships would do alot of damage. And then again going back to like season 2. And leading to the couple who we thought won't end together ends together like robby and sam, Miguel and Tory . Crossfingers it doesn't happen. As we don't know the power of sensi Kim and what she can do , when Kresse joins with her. As he knows alot about the kid's Deja vu and might sabotage the whole situation. However, better late than never, Johnny managed to redeem and better the lives of people around him, and the most important thing is making Miguel and Robby bond like brothers and move past their rivalry.

If Sam didn't exist... they may have never fought each other to begin with honestly. I *hated* Sam's character because of all the wishy washy decision making, and adding Tori into the mix just made it worse because Tori early on just had *zero* fucks to give. What I don't understand is how a girl who supposedly has ALL her time sucked into "2 jobs" plus school, EVER made any time at all for martial arts when she says multiple times her priority is taking care of her family. Tori's character makes no sense. Sam's character makes no sense. They literally exist solely for fluffing up pointless drama.

All I wanted is for Miguel and Robby to finish the rivalry and that's it. It would have been much better if they treated each other like air and not friendship. Because realism is to make them neutral to one another after that fight. But I guess realism doesn't sell. For 4 whole seasons I hated Robby and I was nit picking on him in every wrong thing that he said/did. I appreciate him for finally man up on what he did because before he was proud of it. And I appreciate him for helping to defeat Silver and CK- For that reasons I don't hate him anymore I just don't like him and I am not interested to ever liking him. I have a theory that Tory and Sam will have the same “we’re not friends” “and will never be” exchange in front of Miguel and Robby at some point, and that makes the guys remember saying that themselves. Also do you think they originally planned this to be the last season? Without the last scene of Kreese escaping, that could have been the end of the story, maybe showing the baby being born or Jonny and Carman getting married as a quick epilogue, but otherwise, the story seems pretty much wrapped up.
