Man did we make some big moves this week. We bought a new truck to tow with and a brand new 24 foot car trailer! We have been debating on what to do for a while now since our old truck has been giving us a lot of problems lately and it has almost 300,000 miles now.
So we ended up buying this 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500hd with a 6.0 ls gas engine and 6L90E transmission. It is 4X4 with seating for 6 now and has just over 100,000 miles. Hopefully it has a lot of miles left in it.
The trailer is 24' long steel bed car hauler with removable fender, winch plate, 10,000 pound axles, and it even has a spare casing!

Hey Congratulations on the new truck! You all definitely deserve it. But I agree those casings look like they came off a car! lol Thanks for keeping the videos coming. We really enjoy watching you and your family doing your thing bringing old eighties cars that would be in the crusher, back to life for a second chance! Question? Do you replace the crush washer when you replace the oil? I just learned that last year that the crush washer should be replaced every oil change. Obviously it isn't super risky if you don't but they are cheap and now I put a new one on every time. Because I will be the one in a million that has a leak from a twice used crush washer. 😆 🤣

@@junit483 I had a 2018 that I put a rollback unit on, and the best numbers we got out of a tune was right at 353 HP/357 lbs of torque. It's just depends on the what's been done before, by the original owners and how they treated the truck. From it's appearance, it looks like it was tooken really good care of. Plus the 100,000 miles is practically just getting it broken in. He's probably going to have years of enjoyable and dependable usage out of it, especially how knowledgeable he is on taking care of them the proper way.

I’m so happy for y’all, it’s great to see you get a nice reliable set up. No one deserves it more. Just a small piece of advice, when you hook your safety chains cross them under the hitch, that way if something goes sideways the chains will cradle the trailer instead of dropping it to the ground.

Dear Sleeperdude family 👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! Congrats for purchasing this new used beast of a pickup truck. Congrats too for purchasing the new and longer trailer. You cleaned the truck really, really well, it looks almost brand new now. So please kindly consider to dent out the whisky dent in the rear bumper. After all one of you is a very qualified body repair man. 😁 ;-) 2) Please kindly consider to put a good, sticky/oily undercoating on the truck. There is already some surface rust showing and winter is coming. For instance Mustie1 uses a mixture made of kerosene and chain saw chain oil with extremely good results. 3) I don't know if I could see it correctly but I guess, the trailer hitch is sitting a little bit too high for the new trailer. At least if the trailer is not loaded. 4) I was really glad to see that WaWa's broken finger has already healed. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. I don't think I even blinked during your whole visit with us!! It isn't even thinking about getting light yet outside but I had to check on my 3 doggies and let them out and in. I'm new to the channel but keep making videos man. This is the most relatable channel I've ever seen on YT. 2 things. Cross your chains when towing. Also your tree air freshner, you don't take the plastic all the way off Tear at dotted line, and hang

I saw a neat trick where you first punch a hole in the bottom of the oil filter. Let it drain for a couple of minutes and then when you take it off, you don't get oil all over your hands. Maybe try it out on your next oil change.

I worked for a company that produces all the fastening bolts for GM vehicles. If you take one of it will have a hex shaped line with a capital letter M in the center of the head. That company is MNP. They are located in Utica, Michigan. Open your front door on either side, and the fender bolts have that M stamp on them. When I first started working for them, I had a 1996 GMC Sonoma. The water pump went on it. When I was changing it out, every bolt I took off, had that stamping on them. I ran a furnace there that hardened metal, or could actually make it softer. The furnaces are longer than a football feild, and are approximately 10 feet wide.

When I looked for a 'camper top' for my '03 Tundra the most impotant feature was a three way access, no windows cap. So here you are excited to have found your perfect fit for a replacement truck with a bed cap of the same style three door access, HooYeah! My BFF helped me to install the cap that actually was to narrow to fit my Tundra's bed rails but with some modifications including some Home Depot hardware we together were able to get tne cap secured.

Congratulations guys! Little safety tip. Always cross your trailer chains... If God forbid you lose the hitch ball, the chains will cradle the hitch and keep it from hitting the ground.

Great video yall. Love the truck. For the record I run rotella t4-t6 in everything! Trucks, Race cars, Hotrods, Tractors, Lawnmowers, 4 wheelers, golf carts....never had a oil related failure. The diesel oil has more detergent than regular oil also so it keeps your engine cleaner. I've been sold on rotella since I was 18

I really do enjoy watching y'all's KZfaq videos. The family camaraderie is excellent on the videos. I like the way Wawa doesn't mind getting dirty underneath the truck. And it's really nice that Ralphie is there to let his mother know how she should do things right, lol. Anywho, yeah I'll take care and YHVH bless.

Husky Liners part #79011, it'll cover up the rear wheel wells, no drilling required, makes them match the front ones, nice finished look and can be removed to clean under the bed if you don't mind using tools on those silly plastic tree clips or replacing them. Keep an eye on the jungle website pricing I saw them once for 80-something. Or you can get the Rough Country ones for $100 (part 4215) any day of the week, same way to install.
