I Tried my best to show you guys that being a barber can consist of really good days and really bad days. If you want to reach success, like any other profession, you have to be consistent and put the work/time into your craft. There's really no short cuts and that's just a part of the game that has to be played
let me know what you guys think of the video and what I could do better next time!

You are being brutally honest and many need the truth because, many do not have the discipline to stick it out. Nothing is ever easy but if it means something to you then its worth the struggle. The top of the mountain always has space for winners. LETS GOOOOO!!!

Thank you bro. I’m a new barber and you inspire me and give me motivation. What are your favorite marketing strategies to get booked/clients
@JosCuts

word of mouth is the oldest and most effective trick in the book. most people think that it is social media but its not. put yourself in the shoes of a client. would you rather someone tell you to cut your hair with them through a screen, someone you've never met before. OR, would you rather go to your homies barber or cousins barber after they tell you how dope they are? be a DOPE mf, the cooler you are as a human and person, the more positive vibes you give, the more clientele you will attract. the best form of marketing is a positive vibe the rest will follow. its not corny its the truth!

This is a tough question to answer because I don’t know your work ethic. All I can do is tell you the pros and cons from a person who DROPPED out of COLLEGE to do barbering full time. I went to College 2 years to study for Civil engineering. I dropped out when I was booking 10-12 haircuts a day and realized I can make more from cutting hair than 99% of career choices from college. That being said, it’s not easy. You have no idea how many barbers I’ve seen come to the shop and leave or quit barbering because sometimes you have days when you cut 1-2 people ALL day. If you can put the work in , stay in the shop, perfect your customer service, and perfect your haircut technique . Go all IN on barbering. Here are PROS: you choose your own schedule, you work with your friends/ people who become friends, you meet new people, get all types of connections (example: I cut people who do landscape, photography, roofing, wedding venues, clothing brands, etc.) , you get to choose how much you want to make, you are your own boss. Here are the CONS: since you get to choose your own schedule you can be your own enemy if you’re lazy and lack discipline, sometimes the shop is slow and it can kill your drive and motivation to keep going, it’s nerve wrecking to cut new people or to have fear of fucking a haircut up. All these CONS are controlled by your emotions. If you can control your emotions throughout your journey, there is absolutely 0% chance of failure I guarantee it ! If you’re going to do something go ALL IN !

@@JosCuts thank you bro i really needed this, i know that i want to do it and honestly i see a lot of appeal in working my own schedule, obviously im not trying to blacklist uni for myself but i definitely can see a career without it. really appreciate the effort you put into this response bro keep it up.

Aye bro I’m thinking he if starting barber school. I have a kid. I would be switching careers. I also never cut before. Do you think I could make this a career when I get good?
@JosCuts
@JosCuts 3 ай бұрын
What’s the average haircut price in your city? Times that price by 2 and then times that by 8… 2 haircuts every 30 minutes = how much / hour you can make. Times that by 8 to find out how much you can make in 1 day. If you like that number, then yes absolutely it’s a PHENOMENAL Career

I thought it was awesome. For serious aspiring barbers all the little details show, how a real day is. People these days have squirrel brains and can't watch a 20 min video. @@JosCuts

@@user-nb1if8dc1r I will have ACTUAL barbers talking on the next one. Barbers show how they STRUGGLE to make ends meet. When I started, I could not pay for my car monthly payment, I couldn’t afford my own clippers. My mom helped me out for months with both of those. It’s a struggle but if you stick through it, you will enjoy the fruits of your labor. And if I repeat myself, it’s because I want to STREESSSSS… Not everything is as easy as it looks like on social media. MOST barbers STRUGGLE. I know cause I’ve been there. Thanks for the feed back bro 🤝

Thank you for doing this!🙏🏼 I’m trying to learn barbering and your video helps the truth & reality of a barber. I follow you on IG. Can you make a video of how to learn skills more as a beginner please? i’m only practicing on 2 people🥲
@JosCuts
@JosCuts 2 ай бұрын
The best way I can tell you to get more practice in is to offer more free haircuts. And if that doesn’t help, try cutting the same 2 people every week it’s A LOT easier when you cut weekly and it’ll give you more positive reassurance that this is actually what you want to do. Thanks for the kind words hope the videos provide the reality of being a barber 🙏🏽
