The guys that say they don't move their trucks for less than $3 a mile on dry vans are full of diarrhea 🤒. I have done $11,500(multi stop) 9 days on ice cream loads at 4200 miles that's $2.73 a mile. There are good paying loads of there but not consistently.

Bottom line is a lot of drivers have to go do something else. The market is telling people they are needed somewhere else and the market will do whatever it needs to do to reach equilibrium. Even if it means negative rates. Which some truckers due to wrong calculations of inflation might already be running negative.

Forget the fuel. Idling Tera’s the shit out of the DPF and SCR. Those are real pain both in down time and expense. Fuel savings cherry on top of the cake

anyone on here with refrigerated OTR/Regional experience? i've only ever done it local but the temps were set the same everyday, and fueled at the yard. so really didn't have to check it all too often. But was thinking about refrigerated trucking otr/regional to see if i'd like it.

You said that you pay yourself a salary, do you just wire urself the money from the b-account, or do you have a payroll service so they do the tax deductions, and u get the direct deposit? paperwork wise, how does this look?(do you have your own w-9, unemployment filling for urself, or what?)

So since you are leased on doed that mean if you break down and need towed, you can use company you are leased onto to find you a tow reasonably priced? Or do you have to scramble, find a tow, ect...

Hey Cash , I’m running Regional for an outfit in the southeast doing intermodal. Putting around 2500 to 3000 miles a week on the truck but home 3 out of 7 nights mostly sometimes 4. After fuel and fixed expenses (insurance and stuff) which is only about $105 a week I’m netting about $1.10 to $1.15 a mile . Only other cost is upkeep/maintenance on my truck and taxes. Most of the loads are light less than 30K lbs and pulling empties as well, All drop n hook…. We only have one customer in the regional OTR division that has 40 to 44K lbs loads and I don’t do much of those , at least I try not to, lol. I’m running a 19 KW with Cummins efficiency series engine getting 7.5 to 8.2 mpg depending on load. Should I stay or should I go ? 😉 Just wondering what other options there might be …. Thanks for your insight In advance….🙏

Truckers are aggressive on speed. Yet one of the biggest excuses I hear from Truckers after crashes: "Y'all four-wheelers gotta realize, that us Big Rigs can't stop on a dime!" True, but basic math and physics tell you, "Stopping distances lengthen at the increase in MPH." By Law, you have to make every attempt to stop for a YELLOW, in anticipation of the RED to follow. The Law says slow/brake to comply with the yellow. You DON'T speed up to "beat" the lights. That's not how/why the Law designed traffic control devices.

talking about it on youtube is making things worse. The soonest it can possibly get better is summer of 2025. It will continue to progress downward at minimum until then. Best thing you can do is stop talking business on youtube and with anyone that is in the same line of work as you. The market is over flooded with carriers right now because of it. It took some years to get to this point and there are other factors that are not helping the situation. If you don't believe me just keep an eye on the situation. It is one by one until the number is big enough to make the difference.

@@leagueofotters2774 It's the numbers and the details that can contribute to your' downfall. If say someone knew your numbers and the general area you run they could compete with you. Like a large carrier with deeper discounts than you for example. You don't have to believe me you just have to keep living it until it's so bad that you finally figure out what the problem is and by that time it will be way to late to fix it. `
