100k... is really crappy for a pharmacist that paid 20-50k/year for 6-8 years of college. My wife makes 130k as a pharmacist right down the road in MD and she is not much older than this woman here. Pharmacists should be making 115k easily right out of college. If you are not making that, you are getting robbed.

@@abingham3747 well when someone says over 100k im assuming it is no more than 110k because if it was they would have just said 110k, 120k ect. Also i was just saying this because they are getting taken advantage of if they make less than 115k starting. Shoot places like costco and other huge retail drugstores usually pay $60/hr. Hospital is usually 52+. At least in the 4 states near where we finally settled.
@Hallowsaw Жыл бұрын
@@abingham3747 i mean im only a low key meat department manager with 0 college studying making $35 an hour. So like i said if they are only making 110k or less starting for suffering through a minimum 6 years of college they are getting robbed. College is overrated for what you get out of it. Yeah my wife and i make 192k but we have 200k in her student loans to knock out. Essentially will be 35 by the time its paid off. Big late start in life
@Hallowsaw Жыл бұрын
@@abingham3747 nah now that we look back she said she would have dont a 6 year program instead of an 8 and she went out of state both years where was way worse. So she spent way more on her degrees than she should have. I mean if she came out with only 80k in debt that would have been fine. We would have been done by 28 and then have our entire life to do all the enjoyable things in life. We will get there but im pretty sure just those 2 extra years cost use 7 years in paying off debt cause it was still growing.

If she were in Canada: assuming "over $100k" means about $105k, she'd pay about $25,000 in taxes. Considering $65k in student loan debt, her maximum home price in Canada would be $210,000 with 10% down. The average home price in Canada is $850,000. In Canada, she would be unable to afford a home. She'd be living on about $6k a month, $3000 of which would go to rent, $1500 for food, and $1000 transportation, leaving her with $1000/mo for everything else (including student loans), and zero for saving. A recently graduated Pharm.D. in Canada would be in a hopeless financial situation with no future prospects.
@godofnothing4289 ай бұрын
Why tf would she be spending $1500 a month on food? That would be crazy for a family of 4. Also she doesn’t have to live in Vancouver. In Alberta the average home price is like half that and she can rent a really nice place downtown for under $2k

@@juska4235don’t be fooled that amount is heavily reduced after taxes so you’re not actually pocketing 8K a month. @@hopegrace993 and its better not to mention how other jobs in other African countries are in comparison to this, my friend an undergrad from Nigeria has been worried that his salary doesn't even cover the expenses of monthly transportation and he works way too many hours as night shift... His monthly salary from the company is about 30 usd. Even graduates according to him get 80k ngn equivalent to 105 USD (that's his goal to graduate and get that) Im from Egypt not Nigeria and even to me who doesn't get 8k a year that sounds ridiculous so I don't know if you'd believe it but yea salaries here can be quite ridiculous and their expenses are not less than Egypt from my pov its even higher on WiFi and such things that my friend has shown me (but probably less on essentials or closer to capital?) Its not like I'm saying things are bad here and there, its just that its a funny comparison, we are all okay regardless and that's all that matters
