I am Christian and therefore not required to be Kosher in my diet. However, I do look for Kosher food when shopping because they do not have the needless, unnecessary, and often unhealthy added ingrediants. Thanks for the tip about coffee always being Kosher, even if it is not labled as such. God bless you, Sarah Malka!!!!

WOW! I thought prices would be up quite a bit, but that’s outrageous! I am completely shocked that it is cheaper to eat kosher than non-kosher! At Walmart in the central United States, a 12-count of large eggs is $2.75, 8 ounces of decaf instant coffee is $7.45, 1 pound of tomatoes is $1.25, and a pound of fresh, boneless, skinless (non-kosher) chicken breasts are $2.70. Love your videos! You are the sweetest! 🫶🏼

There are differences in American ketchup as well. Heinz makes one labeled “simply” that has cane sugar instead of the corn syrup. I love a good bargain

That is because you are tastinf real sugar instead of nasty of corn syrup. Their is also organic ketchup that uses the basic ingredients for ketchup no extra weird unnecessary ingredients @@thummumcrysanth

@@thummumcrysanthkeep buying the ketchup til you finally get used to it because I live with my family and when I started to buy organic switched from the nasty corn syrup over processed ketchup my mom thought the ketchup tasted weird at first she did not like it. But after awhile her taste buds adjusted to it and recently I was super mega low on funds and we needed ketchup so I bought some from dollar trees and my mom was horrified but because we don't believe in waste we used it up but the next time around we went for our organic ketchup since our taste buds are now used to it and love the taste of real ketchup..

You know what I love about you? You meticulously follow a thousand rules for life. You've got them all down. Most of us peering from the outside think, when does she have time to do anything else? Yet, you're a full-time mother, a full-time high-end professional, a full-time wife, who pursues excellence in everything you do. Your home is impeccable. It's beautiful! In spite of allbof that you still find time to make videos..and now you're off to Brooklyn! You tie the whole package up with a gorgeous bow of love. I can literally feel it in your videos. Then there's the rest of us who aren't following any rules to speak of, yet can't seem to find time to vacuum the living room let alone create a life even a fraction as full as yours.. We're stressed. We never have enough time in the day to do anything, and on top of that, we don't get a lot done. Most of us feel fairly inadequate at pretty much anything we attempt. I'm just telling the truth. It's true.

I LOVE A GOOD BARGAIN! I've been watching your videos for almost a year now, as I've been going through the conversion process to become Jewish. The synagogue I go to is also Sephardic and I'm also a Francophone, so of course I clicked with your channel so quickly :,) You've really inspired me in incorporating more and more Jewish traditions in my life and I can't thank you enough for that❤ Your channel has become such a safe space for me, just coming to do groceries with you and your kiddos reminds me of doing groceries with my own family members who live far away from me now. I live in a country with little to no kosher products (except maybe a handful in the capital city) so it's always interesting to see how Jews abroad do their groceries! I feel like you can really learn a lot from people's grocery run 'traditions' so to speak.

I hope to grow close to 50% of the food we consume during these growing months coming up. We are a family of 5 as well, I would say our grocery totals are very similar. You're right about ingredients there in Canada vs the states, I have to be very careful and read all the labels, many times I wonder why in the world would that non food item need to be in the food!? Love your videos! I eat whole food plant based oil free diet to reverse heart disease and arterial damage, so I always look for added oils on ingredient lists, per studies showing how oils cause damage to the endothelium based on research by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. I also look for a lot of other unnecessary ingredients like you do. On Passover and a few times a year, I do prep some meat for the family. Where I live, I can't find kosher meat, so I've koshered brisket myself. I recently discovered a Chabad near me, so I asked them for some resources because come Passover, I can never find a shank bone. Thank you for putting out such great videos, and resourceful information. I'm forever grateful especially for showing your undated planner a while back. I am thankful that the pareve Ramen Express brand ramen is available at the Mexican grocery store near where I live. The regular grocery store has pareve ramen in the kosher section but it's more expensive. I am a vegetarian, so meat free ramen is an easy food blessing. I am also delighted to find kosher certified products from Mexico. I am Mexican on my mom's side. Which is where I get my Sephardic ancestry. I didn't know about my Jewish ancestry till a few years ago. So it's nice that I didn't have to give up some of the Mexican things I grew up with just becauseIdecidedtobecomeobservant. I love seeing Mexican kosher marks. I have joked that my new Jewish hobby is collecting Mexican Hechshers. By the way. The Tajin Mexican snack seasoning sold here in the US is OU certified. It's delicious on fruits and veggies. Melons, mango, and oranges with Tajin are fantastic. If kosher Tajin is available in Canada, I highly recommend it.

I actually work at a Walmart in Wisconsin and it’s pretty interesting how the Canadian store you’re shopping in is pretty similar to my store. Although I am Christian I also find myself occasionally looking for Kosher symbols on food because of watching your videos and I love a good bargain myself . I hope you and your family have a wonderful week.

I love a good bargain. Do you ever go to farmers markets? I like the produce at farmers markets because the produce has been harvested just hours of being sold and not shipped halfway across the country to get to the shelves of the grocery stores. I also find a greater variety of different types of vegetables not sold at the local grocery stores. We are fortunate to have several communities of Amish in the part of Missouri where I live. Their produce always seems to taste better

Hello, Sara Malka! I love a good bargain! I just read an article today about Target and Walmart possibly doing away with self checkout! I feel the same way about it that you do! Grrr! Apparently, there is a big problem with theft at self checkout. I'm sorry that the stores lose money from it but glad that it might mean the end of self checkout. Here's hoping! I love that you and your daughters shop together. I used to help my mom shop when I was their age too. I learned a lot from her. She taught me many of the same things about shopping that you talked about in your video today. Thank you for sharing your blessed life with us. I'm so grateful for you. Love from the midwest U.S., M. Kelley McGinley ♥️♥️♥️

I am in US, and kosher is not cheaper. - Kosher roast cost $45.00-60.00 each - Hamburger is 12.99lb - If you buy Tuna from a true kosher place will cost $2.50 a can. Walmart about $1.00 - 4 kosher sausages, hotdog size are $13.99 - Cholev Israel milk $5.50 half gallon - Cholev Israel cream cheese $5.50, Yogurt about $2.00 - Two, yes two beef ribs are $17-$20 - Whole chicken costs $12-18.00 - Stew meat $15.00 - 21.00lb This is before sale prices. No Walmarts, in the US, sell Kosher meat or Cholev Israel. Maybe in a huge community, but if you are in a huge Community, you will shop at a Kosher store. I have never seen a Kosher Walmart. Not saying they don’t exist. Around holiday time things get cheaper. Chicken is the cheapest, but not as cheap as non kosher by a mile.

I love a good bargain! My daughter LOVES the veggie sticks too. We buy them at Costco and she will eat them every day! I had no idea that Heinz had a different recipe in Canada but it is definitely the best ketchup in the US! So glad to see you and your sweet daughters!

Thank you for your shopping video. We try to avoid any high fructose corn syrup also. And it has been a bonus that our family doctor also discourages their use. (Great excuse). I especially was interested in the possible bug infestation in the citrus fruits. Great tip.

Hi Sara, thank you so much for sharing this video! I learn so much from your videos! I am glad I am not the only one who inspects my food when I go grocery shopping. I am always looking for perfect veggies and fruits and no dented cans or beaten-up boxes. I learned this from my mother when I was a child. Food prices are skyrocketing these days and I am always trying to save as much as I can, thank you so much for all your tips! Shalom aleichem!

I shop much like you, quality and ingredient content matter to me. But you mentioned a couple I didn’t know about. Yes, I have seen ingredient differences between countries, but also same product simply sold in other parts of the USA, or even between stores within the community. That was fun to see the comparison from a year or two ago. Thank you for sharing another great video.

It’s so interesting that a lot of the product brands that are kosher, or ones that I prefer, although I am not Jewish. I definitely see a difference in the quality for example in store brand, mayonnaise and comparison to Hellmann’s. And the price of groceries. Oh my goodness, I have to deal with that bit of fear in my gut every time I walk into the store living on a very limited pension.

It's always so interesting to see your tips for shopping that should be common sense for everyone. Looking for dents, insects, rotten parts, soft spots or holes in vegetables. I also check many ingredient lists when shopping but have a feeling no one other than myself does it. People are too trustworthy. I checked my tuna cans and am glad that even the non Kosher ones do not contain any other than just tuna, water and salt. The Heinz Ketchup in Germany has the same ingredients as the one in Canada: tomatoes, vinegar, salt, spices (celery) and sugar, no corn syrup. And I always buy the Ketchup with 50% less sugar and salt in it. The corn syrup in the US is really a bad decision for everyones health but much cheaper for the companies although customers pay the same prices. Higher margins for stock holders... I am glad to live in Europe where grocieres are better monitored and the standards are higher. I think it is quite the same in Canada. I have a feeling that prices went up 20 to 50% for groceries over here because they also invented shrinkflation on top. But still... I love a good bargain. 😉

Hi Sara: I love a good bargain. Naomi is such a wonderful helper. 🙂After you shared about the tuna fish, I jumped up to grab one that I recently bought at Costco. Happily, I can report that there weren't any "fillers" in their Wild Planet and Ahi Tunas. I live in North Carolina, USA, and am astounded at the rate of price increase in food. Thank you for sharing your life with us...yours is my absolute fav channel. 💙🤍
