As a bulldogs supporter I was devastated when he left, I know he has been somewhat inconsistent for the bombers, but at his best he’s a top 20 player in the league easily

Stringer cops it so much but it's really unfair. He's been fantastic at Essendon and everything should be done to keep him. He's a genuine match winner and big moment player.

No trade. He’s too important to the Bombers. Like any mercurial player he needs his head in the right space which it now is. Is he going to kick 5 goals every week? No. But you can’t find players like that just anywhere. 2 years + 1. His game against West Coast was where they need to play him. Big mobile midfielder and part time mid sized forward. Just stop changing his role. He needs consistency in his role to maintain confidence. Not too many can kick it through the big sticks from outside 50 on the boundary.

Stringer has always been a solid mid tier player. Lets not pretend the bloke who's career highlights are exclusively regular season is something other than a decent player. All that match winning maybe resulted in 4 or 5 nothing wins.

Simpsons zoning tactic was way off, he didnt even try to fix it when it was obviously not working. Man up, create the contest, it worked against Melb and Freo, not sure whats going through his head some games.

@@azzajames7661 any time the ball is coming in hot a defence will be under pressure and have to scramble. Blame the mids and half forwards - not the defence. Eagles won the clearances and scores from clearances. Essendon’s clearances and centre square hasn’t been the same since Parish got injured. And don’t listen to Cornes about Parish. Cornes was nothing but an overrated tagger. Not an elite mid like Parish. Don’t blame the defence and give the Eagles some respect. Like North, they have improved during the course of the season. Listen to Brad Scott. The bottom teams are not that far from the mid or top teams these days. Not like 10, 20 or 30 years ago.

The reason he is worth 700k is because of his matchwinning form in some games. You take that out, he is worth 400k If he leaves Caddy just comes into the side as a developing forward.

Russell is from Sth Australia, hard to believe as I agree with the bias. It's as if someone from Freo rooted his missus when he commentates them. You can tell in his voice how delighted he is when they lose and even sounds angry when they play well. Especially against his VFL club Geelong.

Essendon are entering an era where they want to win a premiership? 😂🤣😂 The phrase 'NO CHANCE' does not convey half of what the reality is on their chances. Norf will finish above them next year and more likely to win one before essington do. Bombers are about the 8th or 9th best team now, with little chance of improving much on that to me. Don't get it twisted because they got kissed on the dik by the AFL re their schedule this year.

You can only beat who you are drawn against. Let’s reassess at the end of the regular season or at least until every team has played every other team at least once. The AFL draw is so uneven it’s a folly of the highest order to make comments about a team in the top 4 after 15 rounds.
