Im greek and i find 500eu for groceries a lot. Together with my girlfriend we are spending around 300eu per month and our diet is full of everything. u need to find the best markets in your area. look for local ''laiki'' there u can find all the vegetables, fruits, eggs, local products potentially in very decent prices and A+ quality. just buy the rest of the groceries on your local supermarket. Also 30 euros (considering this price a bit expensive) for a mobile contract is the maximum i would consider, there are so many deals out there around that price. prices for rents and utilities i would say are accurate (finding the best price for what you get in return is the most important part).

Tips to get a lower groceries price: Find a good Laiki, where you will get all of your fruit / vegetables, even eggs, cheese and other house stuff. Laiki happens 1 time a week in every city area usually. The prices are much lower even from Lidl. Also, shop in season. In Laiki the cheapest and also most delicious fruit / vegetables are the ones that are in season! Eat like a local. Red meat and in general food that it is not produced a lot in Greece will always be the most expensive. Also, other greek supermarkets offer a variety of products by their own brand which is much cheaper (as long as you have a card for that store so you can also have the discounts), sometimes even cheaper than from lidl (and if not cheaper, better in quality) And lastly, Greeks usually cook 1 main meal a day (which they usually eat for lunch / dinner) and if there are leftovers we eat it the next day as well. So this saves a lot of money. That's why we have so many baked vegetables, grains or in general "pot cooked" foods since they are good to eat the next day as well.

I'm single, living on Rhodes, which is a touristic place and more expensive compared to other parts of Greece. I spend around *160* euros for all supermarket purchases (food, cleaning products, etc.). I drive around 10km per day and spend around *45* euros per month on gas. Electricity is around 45 euros, water around 7 euros.

Hello there again. As the people have said before me 500 fir groceries is very much. For example we pay around 400 euros a little bit more sometimes and we are family of 3, me my wife and our little daughter. As previous guys said find rhe nearby farmers- producers market or in greek " laiki" every city of Greece have. Most of the times just some days per week. Excellent quality and local products. The other stuffs that you need a sklavenitis would be good to consider. Very good prices and many times with good offers. Lidl is good at the price department but just average at the quality. Also ask the locals to give you tips for everything you need. I suppose that would be glad to help you. Also for your video mind that you talk about Crete. Far from mainland and might change the overall total prices and major tourist destination winter and summer. At the mainland the things defence. Keep up the good work and glad that we have you.

So basic needs you need €2,010 without car payments, holidays, eating out, etc. with kids you need additional €700 per kid. So let’s assume €1,000 all other expenses plus €700 for 1 kid. You need €3,700 all in net. Based on a quick calculation you’d need €90,000 per year gross. Also in this calculation we don’t have any retirement, college or any other saving factored in. I would at 12,000 per year or total gross €113,000. If you can get me that salary then I’m quitting from NYC and relocating tomorrow. Sign me up!

If you really want to settle down, you get a house in rural area for around 20-30k renovate it and make it completely autonomous with another 20k then you basically only have water bill and gas, unless you go further on the solar or get a heat pump. You can stay for free here, grow most of the stuff you need on your yard, buy from the local market. I don't understand these costs. My sister and my parents we don't shop more than 300 euros per month in groceries and we live in the city. Our monthly cost is way below 2k and I'm not talking business expenses. Actually now that I think about it , I did some calcualtions and our total costs for a month is 3100 euros that includes business expenses, but my father gets 4500-7500 euros per month but around 2100 are business expenses, factor is we own the house but we also pay bills for other 2 houses, one for vacations one the house they had before. So how come 4 people spent 1000 and 2 spent 2000 is life choices and probably rent as well. Now if we all relocate to the vacation house we'd cut around 600 euros per month in groceries and bills because its basically autonomus, we have several fields we can grow stuff on, once we had so many carrots we just gave them away. So yeah you can live in a cubicle in athens and be miserable and have a total gross cost of 120k per year
