10K and 15K for these prefabricated houses in Greece.....i don't think the information you give or this guy gave you are accurate. These houses usually cost at least 40K and believe me i know really good because i supply these kind of constructors. Give us some more info about the name of this "constructor" that you found because to me it looks like a SCAM !

We did this ferry to balos today and it was the worst experience ever! The company never told anybody clearly prior about depositing people to balos in deep sea water ( 2m +) it was at least one hour of queues to get off at balos, which left many with 20 mins only at the beach 😮🫠😫💩. Many people also can’t swim and had to turn back without being able to get off the ferry. It was a chaos and terrible company. So people reading this please avoid avoid avoid the the ferry! Take the car! We will go with a car next time. ( good to see gramvousa but not worth the chaos for only one hour or less..

Thank you for watching and sharing your experience!🙏 Sorry to hear that 😔 It's sad to know they didn't inform the people. I hope it's just a chaotic situation because the law is quite new, and hopefully, they will find a better way to go about this.

The best feta is from Lesvos(Mitillini) it has a bubbled body and a tangy flavour as feta should. As for Ipiros feta, no it tastes like white cheese(feta without PoP) and has no tang.

Kalimera from Montréal Quebec Canada !! friends this video on Balos beach was an excellent complete with information and most important for older people like myself 34:06 the risk if someone (myself can’t swim 🏊♂️) when the ferry boat drops the anchor at 3 meters deep sea that’s a panic & anxiety issue. Raul like you & Amalia said as you were looking at the tourists having difficulty getting off. The crew of the ferry should explain that the ferry will stop where the water would be very deep and must know to swim about 40 meters to reach the shore. My solution is to have a metal walkway 4 meters wide like a bridge on 2 wheels have 2 crew members come off the ferry and bring the metallic bridge with a couple of hooks 🪝 🪝 to hook on the ferry so there will not have any waiting time on the ferry and lose time on the beach .. my issue was when I crossed the Samaria gorge at 60 nobody told me that there’s no food stands in the 16 km extreme hike only water.. I didn’t bring food cause I thought it might go bad in the heat I depended on snack stands and you need a good pair of knees to take the shock of walking on stones and rocks … I had an amazing hike of 7 hours made a few friends that were in same situation with no food .. the funny thing was I got sunstroke spend one day at the hospital and 3 days re-energizing near the hotel cause I had also painful legs to walk .. I recommend to do the Samaria gorge and enjoy the experience.. I’m there in Chania this October 2024

I have been through the mountainous trail to Balos. It was a hard route to drive to and to go on foot ascending and descending.Also the shallow waters smelled like sewer in a crowded Balos (i guess everyone was using the sea as a w.c-its a closed sea-lake).During the tourist peak avoid it, it doesn't worth it, prefer Falasairna instead.Balos is a stunner but its great off tourist season.Your videos look like you are a tourist rather than people residing to the area. Unrealistic points of view.The people residing to a place always propose the actually good places not the tourist traps.

As a frequent traveller I am often reading a lot of reviews of hotels and restaurants online before I visit. There is an emerging trend in negative reviews for minor things and most of them come from people from eastern Europe. Anyone else noticed it? One of the most overrated beaches in Chania... For sure not the best...Not even the second or third best...To much hype and advertising for a medium beach...Make better research and stop being a tourist...You are not!!!... Because of your decision to stay here try to be like locals...Please...🙂🙂🙂...Ask for the best places...ask for food...ask for the beaches...The locals call balos with a nickname...TSIROBALOS...Because of the to many people and the water in the sealake doesn't renew it stinks after a while...It stinks like urine...(TSIRI MEANS URINE in Cretan dialect)... Search places by asking the opinion from the locals..For example Falasarna a much better beach to go...Or palaiochora.Or sougia.Or generally south Chania...Seitan limania which you went, ok i agree... I like your videos and i like your style... This is a kindly advise... Don't fall into the tourist traps...I don't believe in my eyes about they want money for parking and how much the drinks or food costs...it was shocking... Wish you the best...

I'm not gonna say if it's expensive or not. Just consider this: 708 Euros net monthly income, at least 400 Euros for rent, even for old houses and apartments, plus water bill, power bill, internet bill, food for the month, super high taxes and if you got a car/bike, consider those expenses as well. Sounds like a battle for survival, doesn't it? Also, when the whole world reduces work days to four per week, our politicians want to increase them to six, or even seven. Starting to sound like the worst place to live, huh? That's because it is.

Driving in Crete for two weeks I got to see the worst driving I have ever seen (and Ive spent time in the USA). The best bit was the road with 6 people passing eachother all at the same time 2 of them were doing 60-70 in the dirt off the road 2 were in the hard shoulder (using both sides) best of all there was a blind corner coming up so it was just a 6 car wide wall of death! The rest of the time its just a free for all a bit like carmageddon but with some very narrow and badly looked after roads. Oh and and there are "about to explode" dead animals everywhere! My tip for driving there, DON'T!

the problem with greek supermarkets is that the products are too similar and targeted at local consumption. what i mean is that you cannot easily find finer Greek products almost at all in any of the supermarket chains. the more refined Greek products, sadly, are aimed at mostly foreign consumption.

As you said. First rule: there are no rules. Greece is probably the most uncivilised country in Europe in terms of driving behaviour. Zero social consciousness and as a Greek i have to say that this applies unfortunately generally in the greek way of life. Sad but true.

I have been driving in Canada from 1978 i was always a good safe driver. When we get our drivers license it comes with a 12-15 demerit point system. So if you drive fast according to the speed limit is about 2 points deduction per 10km off you 12 points if you lose you lose all 12 points driver looses the license and the police keep your car in storage I believe. That’s the traffic laws here. NOW IN CRETE is different story as you explain well. Oh yes oh my god they're really bad drivers they don't stop if somebody crossing the street and the streets are narrow and a few times I come very near to the tire 🛞 4-5 cm to my foot. On my next visit I would buy a big red plastic hockey stick 🏒 or hammer 🔨 have in clear view so the can see it that I have a hammer they better stop: so I can cross the street safely. We have to use a little humour maybe they stop 🛑.. kalimera enjoy your weekend

Some tips for Sklavenitis. It is the best one in quality of produce and prices. The Marata (ΜΑΡΑΤΑ) brand is owned by them and it has quality products but cheaper than the ones that have big names. Melissa, Misko and Makvel are Greek brands for pasta and are quality products. Marata has as well very good quality in pasta. When looking for tomatoes check also the ones that are called "Tomatoes for Sauce" , they select the ones that are starting to be softer and cannot be used in a salad and they lower the price. The quality usually its the same with the other ones so you save a little money. For table water check Nera Kritis, Zagori or Avra as they have the best taste.
@georgekvdel50444 күн бұрын
For Feta you can also try the one from Kefalonia, it's a one of a kind feta that has a softer "creamy" state. This is not always the case though so better ask before - Sklavenitis usually has it on the cheese section that has a person and not from the fridges that have the ones that you were looking. Also you can check Dodoni and Ipeiros for Fetas. One tip, you can put in aluminum foil feta with olive oil and oregano and put it in the oven or in the bbq grill and it will melt and be so good!
@Sunpire4 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for watching and for the tips!🙏💙 we'll try this one for sure for the next bbq! I love melted cheese😋
