When you’re a new business, this feels like the most difficult thing to do. I wish this video was made earlier. I just took a leap of faith. It worked out. You should make a video on when to replace yourself with a driver and how.

This sounds like very good advice since I ran the numbers for my area and it is doable.

Victoria Island hahahah. I must correct you. its Vancouver Island. Victoria is just the largest city on the island. I feel like if you want to get into large projects you are almost immediately forced into hiring help. When I started getting $10,000-15,000 landscape jobs I realized it would take me weeks or months to get the jobs done by myself. More help = projects done sooner = more projects in the season = more money. You can be a heck of a lot more efficient as a team.

Hey Mike, I’m a newer business and I like watching your videos and all the advice that you give always helpful. I’m just curious on what services you guys try to focus on to keep revenue steady. For your location, and also you’re Franchisees are they different?

Hey Mike! I am currently looking into starting a lawn care business in Arizona, after I graduate high school, in a suburb around phoenix. One problem I can see is that there are a lot of non registered/insured people and businesses that charge less then any legitimate company because they pay under the table. How do I compete with this while still keeping my prices scalable and staying legitimate. Thanks!

I know this is an old post, but if I mow for 50 people weekly, and average pay is $50 a cut, with landscaping jobs on weekends, should I hire a full time employee? Right now it’s hard for me to mow 12 people by myself daily.
