I'm so happy with Poland as a nato partner. While western europe has been cutting their defense spending in the last 25 years, Poland kept investing and now has by far the most modern and largest army. They truly are our best bet in the east against Russia.

You cannot straight up ignore the thousands of British and European milltary personnel that are currently stationed in the baltics at the moment. If article 5 is invoked, most of western europe are more or less obliged to engage in an appropriate way.

Since baltic countries joined nato, everyone started talking that nato won't protect them and that after a few years russia will occupy baltic countries and etc... And now, decades later, baltic countries are still more or less independent and no russia in sight...

The key issue with Hiiuma Island isn't capturing it, it's holding it. The Russians could set anti-ship and anti-air batteries, but the Finnish would do the same to cover their long-range artillery. With that in mind, it means they'd still be a sitting duck unless they could take out the artillery, which, considering the geography of Finland, is not gonna be easy.

I will be devils advocate now, but these treatries are crafted by dominant western powers which in turn are notoriously known for stabbing allies in their back when it suits their interests... that's unfortunately true, history speaks for itself and I write this as a citizen of a country that's been once actually betrayed by the west... that's unfortunately a nature of the UK, FR, DE and USA they are your friends, all smiles and handshakes with glamorous photo sessions... but, these countries still retained their colonial manners till this day... so I personally don't believe the western powers at all... they are still locked in this, grand colonial scheme of their interests above all else... so, who knows on the other hand, I as someone from geopolitical background don't believe RU or Putin have their sights on restoring USSR why ? because, if one analyses this prospect properly, this would mean much bigger issues for RU than benefits for a state itself it's much easier to practice internal influence over these former areas then to incorporate them... in today's world, this would be so, so dangerous to the RU itself that I don't think such scenario is viable the west just needs to start respecting their concerns, just as they require other countries to respect theirs... USA has it's own red lines in the area of influence, just as UK has it's own or FR... they all show incredible aggression on their own in protecting their interests but continuously continue to disregard or downplay the legitimate interests of other countries unfortunately, another remnant of their colonial nature.... they simply can't help themselves but to dictate others so, yes RU did and does what it does, but nobody is asking why the west is seemingly incapable of respecting others sadly but true... the west is constantly organising regime changes, economic pressure, military interventions... threats etc... and is uncapable to see, that this behaviour is also creating hostility and instability in the world so, yes other countries are problematic in their own right... sure but why the west is incapable to see that their own actions add to this issue because they can't help themselves but to behave like some world policeman, with the patent on wisdom and truth forcing quite often other people to accept their dominance... if the world wants peace, the west needs to understand that it needs to respect others, even with different opinions on things, different cultures etc... otherwise this conflict will only perpetuate itself further

No baltic fleet can approach Estonia by sea. Aswell Finnish bay between Finlad and Estonia are completley blocked for russian warships. Why? Underwater mines and anti ship batteries on coastal line. Only approach is by land.
