Even putting ethics aside, it’s more logical to strive for equality and integration from economic and stability point of view for several reasons. 1. The majority group tends to exploit whatever natural resource in the area at the detriment of whoever is living there because they just care about profit, but they fixate too much on short term profit. Dealing with the inevitable uprising is going to be a lot costlier and could cut you off from the resource. 2. Barring an entire region of segment of your population from opportunities will just deprive you of anything those people could contribute to the economy otherwise if they were given the opportunity to grow.

One of the main problems being the clear intention by the Madrid government to suppress the Catalan language from schools in Catalonia, and even changing the official name of it in the Catalan-speaking area of Aragon from the original and accepted name "Català de La Franja" (Aragon's' Strip Catalan) to "Lengua Aragonesa Propia del Área Oriental" (LAPAO), which is simply a ridiculous attempt to terminate the Catalan language in that region by simply changing its name in official records.
