So what percentage should be used if used on regular basis??
@sanaluv4487Ай бұрын
You can't use glycolic acid on regular basis.. Just buy 5% glycolic acid serum or cream and apply only once or twice a week. This acid is too strong so, make sure your skin barrier is not damaged or broken before applying it.

don't apply ordinary glycolic acid toner onto your face as it is very strong. it is good for knees and elbows but not for face skin. use a cream version instead. I use medicated cream "Glyco 6" which contains 6% glycolic acid. i use it once a week at night, no irritation, no purging. and it made my rough skin so smooth in just two weeks I was so pleasantly surprised. sunscreen is a must.

@flaneur8858 So Everything dosen't work for Everyone, Ordinary Glycolic acid is ony 7% and it's good for most people, I Love it follow up w/ amino acids, moisturizer, I only use maybe twice a week ❤❤❤❤
@flaneur8858Ай бұрын
@@walkingbyfaith2885 true...but glycolic acid is not good for everyone especially the people of color as it can be a bit harsh and can lead to hyperpigmentation. Ordinary glycolic acid toner is a little stronger compared to the cream version. And I feel people who are new to glycolic acid should always start with a lower percentage to avoid any damage and can increase the strength overtime. I am glad your skin loves the ordinary toner...goodluck with your skin journey.

How can I use it ? After moisturizer or before?
@TheVeganMantisGuyАй бұрын
After cleansing, before moisturizer. You should always use oil-based products (like moisturizer) last, because water-based products are repelled by the oily ones.

I have heavy hyperpigmentation on my neck. Can i use glycoly acid (10%) on my neck everyday? 😢 I'm so tired...
@flaneur8858Ай бұрын
hyperpigmentation is something which can't be reduced by just one acid. you need few acids to Target it. reducing it is a very slow process just be consistent and patient with your skincare. firstly be consistent with your SPF. apply daily spf 50 on both your face and neck. also know that the skin on the neck is thinner than the face. glycolic acid 10% is too harsh for the face and neck. using harsh products on pigmented skin will worsen hyperpigmentation. u can use glycolic acid upto 6% on your face and neck that too only once a week at night. 'less is more' is the mantra. no acid is a magic potion which can cure hyperpigmentation in a few months time. be patient and consistent. during day time use vitamin c on dry face after cleansing. then apply your moisturizer and then sunscreen. sunscreen along with vitamin c will not only brighten your skin, but will protect your skin from harmful UV rays and sun damage which is the cause of hyperpigmentation. at night use niacinamide serum (5%) daily as it calms the face and is good for uneven skin tone. use tretinoin thrice a week it is good for anti ageing and fights pigmentation too. once a week use an exfoliant - glycolic acid/lactic acid/ mandelic acid. glycolic acid works very fast as it has the smallest molecule which deeply penetrates into the skin. I use 6% glyco 6 cream once a week at night with a moisturizer. you can also use alpha arbutin (2%) serum along with niacinamide (5%) at night which too reduces hyperpigmentation. niacinamide can be paired with both tretinoin and glycolic acid too. moisturizer your neck too. hope it helps. firstly, protect your skin from sun damage by using sunscreen. secondly, use serums which can fight pigmentation ( vitamin c, niacinamide, alpha arbutin, kojic acid) thirdly, use an exfoliant once a week ( glycolic acid/lactic acid/mandelic acid) fourthly, use an anti ageing cream ( retinol/tretinoin/differin) twice or thrice a week only at night. VV

tretinoin is used as a maintenance cream for anti ageing. it also slightly exfoliated the skin but it is v slow. it should be used twice or thrice a week. glycolic acid is used as a exfoliant which removes dead skin and will make your skin smooth and will show results fastest. however it should be used only once a week only at night. I use both. when used consistently glycolic acid will reduce fine lines too. I think you should use both if your concern is anti ageing.

You can't use glycolic acid which has more than 5% concentration since it is too strong. I suggest you use glycolic acid cream at night only instead of serum and wear 50+++ SPF at a day time (mandatory). If this doesn't help, try Kojic acid and alpha arbutin cream or serum.
