My husband is Caucasian and I'm a black woman. His family was very upset when he introduced me. This was ten years ago. And I can still feel the humiliation. A very painful time in both of our lives. What shocked me was the hatred they had towards me, simply because of my skin. We barely knew each other. We never spoke before. But once they saw a black woman, they shut me down. My husband spoke to them many times, but after ten years, he no longer speaks to his family. So much damage was done, coming at a cost of our peace. Sadly, since we stop talking to them, we found so much peace in our marriage. It was difficult decision for us, but his family wasn't willing to change their prejudice and racist ways. No one should have to suffer in this kind of treatment. Every human should be treated fair.🙏🏿♥️

I've been with my wife for 21years and coming from a country we neva saw black people or any other races it was a bit of shock for my family in Albania but no way anyone was disrespectful to my wife and they welcomed her with open arms. No way that I will alow anyone disrespecting my wife. 🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱no matter what colour it is. But my people loved her. 🇦🇱🇦🇱

My dad passed away and he never met my late husband because he didn't come to our wedding and when I said I would bring him over so they could meet my dad told me "don't bother unless he's as black as me". That statement hurt me to the core and put distance between my dad and I. My mom loved my late husband and his family. We are all God's children and I thank Him for giving me the best mother-in-law ever.

My first relationship as a adult my bf was Italian and his mom called me the "pretty dark girl" I just was over the racist comments and remarks. I ended it for my mental health cause he was a moms boys and never defended me. I respect you guys for being so honest. When I hear these stories I realize how blessed I am. My husband is " of European decent"😂😂 and I am not. Black and proud!!😊. But my in laws have always been loving. Interestingly, Im black and my family was very excepting. My husband is lebanese and he has fought and tried to educate his family on their unaccepting attitude towards me. They love the grandkids and after 32 years we are very cordial towards each other. It was nothing but the grace of God giving me a forgiving spirit for them. My heart goes out to Jay.
