Hey, Jack! Great content as usual! Thanks for giving us the behind the scenes of you football life. I would like to ask you what are the fitness tests that a player in the USL has to pass ? What is the minimum that a player must cover and etc. ?

Came across your channel recently and I think it’s class mate! One question though, if you have an afternoon kick off (1pm, 3pm etc) how would you go about eating before that? Would you have a late breakfast or breakfast and then a snack a few hours before the game?

Good stuff Jack! We have to run a sub 5 minute mile at Tormenta whenever the USL starts back up again, so I'm definitely going to give this a go and time myself 👍

Just did my son age 11 and plays an elite level for his age. One mile at 5:36 and two miles at 13:52 total. I remember our pre-season test for division 1 college in America was 2 miles under 12 minutes. Been pushing my son to get there and I know with extensive training and the help pf this type of coaches found on KZfaq, we can get there in a year or less. Thanks

Class again mate that’s a great time! I’ve just recently ordered a bicycle in order to do long distance rides to build overall endurance as I hate long distance running. Do you think a bike riding can help as well top of like box to box runs and other football specific fitness?

Thanks for this! I'm a footballer and play for a U13 girls team. Iv'e been injured for the past 2 months now and am almost recoverd. Another 1-2 weeks I think. Started dooing a little bit of running on the treadmill to boost my fitness. My cach says that everyone has to run a 6:00min mile at the minimum at the end of the season. That's like 1 month away and I'm behind everyone else after my injury time. can only train in the aerobic range currently without any pain so its a but hard to improve fitness but im hopfull as long as i work hard,

Hi Jack, new to the channel, I enjoy your content so far. It would be nice to see an attempt on the Coopers test. Basically run as far as possible in 12 min. Reason is that i think i will do better individual sesion, and i think maybe i will litle bit more improve because during team workouts ( now during this situation ) we do some individual things. Sorry for bad English.

Is long distance running no longer considered a valid method to build up stamina? Of course football has changed so much even in the last ten years but 20 to 30 years ago I didn't notice so many players going down with cramp even in the normal 90 mins much less extra time that so many games go into these days.
