For thousands of years, many of the greatest rulers of all time have abided by the cardinal virtues of a single philosophy. This philosophy emphasized temperance, courage, justice, and practical wisdom.

Who am I:
My name is Zach. I’m a fourth-year medical student in Philadelphia. I make videos about medical school, studying, and growth. I love trying new things and often mess up. I write a weekly newsletter 💌 (zhighley.com/newsletter/) linking the best things I read, watched, and listened to that week. Join the 4,000+ that read it every Sunday morning.

High quality content. No waffling like a lot of other self improvement channels on youtube but practical advice plus you talk about your own struggles which I appreciate a lot. Thank you so much for your work Zach, we're all just anonymous accounts and just numbers here but behind that we're sometimes just guys that have more in common than one would expect.

you know Zach? You have completely changed my life with your contents. Whenever I feel lost and confused I re-watch and re-re-rewatch some of you videos. I have watched your "Why you procrastinate" video almost 50 times so far.. Even I strategize most of my tasks (specially exam preparations) with "what,when and how" blocks as you mentioned in that video and it was life changing. I can't thank you enough for your contents. Your channel has certainly become my life coach.

hi there i just wanted a little advice that currently I'm at the borderline to the medical studies my exams are next month and then itll be the entry test so .... was just nervous as to whether it is the right path for me or not ... as you are a medical student urself is it possible to work super hard to push across this barrier of entry tests and secure admissions in some great medical colleges and just after a few years feel like..na it was not meant for me or something...
@JustMe-12345

I can’t tell you how you feel. So in the end you need to choose for yourself if you want to try. I am a med student, and am super happy with my choice. Yes there were moments where it was super hard but from my point of view it’s worth it. I can’t say much about preparing entrance exams (I kinda got super lucky I passed with barely studying bc where I live they are not knowledge based) but all the big exams for uni itself. You study a lot. You get frustrated by studying. Maybe your grade won’t even be what you want. But then you take them again and pass these exams. As for how it’s years later… again… idk you so idk what your motivation is or what could happen. But generally most ppl leave within the first 2 years (of a 6 year program), either because of exams or they don’t like it. So only this time could be “lost time”. So if you compare it to a month or a bit more of studying for the exams…imagine what is the worst that could happen/the most you could use and what would be the best that could happen. Then weigh them against each other. I would just go for it. Try it. Worst is you fail and worked hard for a few extra months. 😂 hope that helps a bit and made any sense
