The ending of a friendship is a very hurtful, painful thing. There isn't much support for us out there. For Romantic relationships, yes. Jesus was not betrayed by a wife or lover but by a friend.🤔🤔🤔. We are hurting, too. Thank you, PD, for addressing friendships 💖

If I try to have emotional goals, I always end up exploding,...but if I go with Thich Nhat Hahns ways, taking good care of all the emotions that come up to the surface, and the negative ones will feel well taken care of, so they will go back to store consciousness, and a new positive emotion comes in place.

My emotional goal is to allow God to manage my emotions during hard circumstances more rather than letting my flesh take the lead.

culture plays such a role in it as well....in Japan, you can be friends with someone for 20 years and then find out they always hated you (that is not exaggerating) Culture in Japan is rough in terms of friendships....but for the older generations, especially the elder women (and men), they are so strong right now because of their good friends (from daycare or elem. school)

I agree with your friendship as spiritual blessing comment, but I do not completely agree with what you said about "not keeping silence". Brother Yun, in The Heavenly Man, who was tortured, so much, they wanted to kill him, The Holy Spirit gave him the instruction "do not say anything but what I say for you to say", so during the process, The Holy Spirit never told him to say anything, so he remained silent and walked into his freedom. As for me, I've ignored when the Holy Spirit has told me to be silent, and it has only brought misery during those times. I now cover myself in prayer whenever I have to go be around any human being, to keep my mouth from saying stupid things, there have been times now where the Spirit actually prevents me from being able to talk, not as a punishment or anything (I love to talk!), but as protection. Here in Japan, with me being American, now, silence is my # 1 protection (and the wheelchair, cane, not being able to hear or see well, but with silence, The Lord is bringing so many elders to have compassion on me, words are rarely spoken because they cause problems, but acts, say so much more than words. The younger generation are out to get whatever they are after, so they do not care if they plow me down, but God just silently puts me in places, where he wants me seen. (like he told me to go to a certain restaurant on my way home, which I did not want to because I was tired and sick, but I obeyed. And I had not much money, so I could only order frenchfries, and totally wondering why he told me to go there and he said "I just want your presence here". Now what a gift is that! If nobody else wants you (ostracised, and blamed for world events based on the way I look), but God wants you in the room! This is all that matters. Sometimes, silence is good, but the command for it, has to come from the Spirit.
