One of the most beloved aspects of fighting games is their crossovers. In the past, we’ve had plenty to go around.
In regards to just Capcom, they’ve crossed over with SNK, Marvel, Tekken, and even Tatsunoko. Yes, anime. Back in the day, Capcom loved embracing their characters alongside other iconic characters in fiction.
They were even willing to hire the competition, as around the mark of the millennium, not the game of course, SNK was going bankrupt and a sizeable portion of their staff migrated to Capcom.
With the stark differences of the two series, how would Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter possibly resonate with one-another?

I want this game so badly seeing iconic characters from each fighting game clashing with each other Ed Boon been wanting this crossover the longest even Ono said multiple times he does not mind the crossover at all it's just Capcom restraining the Street Fighter characters from crossing over with Mortal Kombat due to the violence but Street Fighter has plenty of characters that kill their cartoons have all sorts of violence.

At the very least, I would love to see a character like Akuma or Evil Ryu guest star. I feel like that one thing would push them to make it happen. Just imagine the amount of requests. It'd be a trending topic across multiple sites in a matter of minutes.

@@roscodantethefightinggamen7939 Yes DLC should be a powerhouse pack with powerhouse characters from each series Gill, Onaga, Ingrid, Kronika, Kage, Seth, Shinnok etc all in a fighters pack

Mortal Kombat simply does not mix well with any of the fighting game franchises from Japan or other crossover titles from the west in general. The sheer brutality would simply not work in their respective aesthetics. I mean... can you see a college/high school girl like Sakura ripping someone to shreds, graphically, with a fully charged Hadouken or a Shoryuken, that would break anyone's neck, realistically speaking? It'd completely wreck the image of the franchises. Reason why Negan, Noctis and Fahkumram simply don't work for Tekken, because of how they are simply not made to be in a fighting game, design wise and aesthetic wise (Fahkumram looks so damn cartoony and overkill, I simply got no words, literally).

Fahkumram I can guarantee is Bandai Namco reusing what they made for Sagat in TK x SF

This crossover is inevitable one way or another we will get a Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter game I feel both NetherRealm and Capcom can make their own version of the crossover like Capcom and Namco did with Street Fighter and Tekken this game will happen just watch.

I hope you're right! I miss Capcom reaching out to different company and making magic happen. Either way, it would be a successful endeavor for both companies; guaranteed.

Tbh you probably got a better chance at seeing pigs fly then this crossover ever happening. Capcom has outright said they wouldnt do it because of the gore and in their eyes disrespectful to their characters. Japanese companies are also notorious for not wanting to work to much with Western studios. The only chance itll ever happen is if NRS offers them so much money they cant refuse, or if Capcom ends up in a really bad financial position that they would be willing to take that risk.

Maybe if a new M rated Fighting game gets to be made, Mortal Kombat might have a proper crossover, rather than crossing over with other Fighting game franchises. It’s just my personal thoughts, and I hope you find it making sense.

I definitely see what you mean. One of the barriers stopping them from doing it is Mortal Kombat being essentially banned from releasing in Japan. That's a huge missing market.

Now that's a game I want badly. With Microsoft's willingness to make their games multiplat, everyone would have a chance to play the game.

Wonder what the story mode will be like and the DLC's we can get a comic book of the crossover I want these two legendary fighting games to clash Ryu vs. Liu Kang, Chun-Li vs. Kitana, Cammy vs. Sonya, M. Bison vs. Shao Kahn etc this is a must the nostalgia!

I would look forward to the MK team handling the story. I'm not the biggest fan of one-liners, but the pre-battle interactions alone would get be so excited to play the game! Speaking of those, imagine characters like Joker or the Predator guest starring. It would be a dream matchup that'd give me Marvel vs Capcom levels of chills!

MK vs. SF... that's a huge paradox lol. On the one hand they're really different franchises and it'd be nearly impossible to make a crossover that'd satisfy the two fanbases, but on the other hand if you think about it, it'd be so awesome and it'd sell so well... lol I don't know what to think.

It's conflicting, and if you think about it, that's the beauty of it. I think that if a crossover like that were to happen, they could learn a lot from the collaborations of the past.

Die hard fans like me would buy any Street Fighter game. The only game i am missing is Ultra SF2 which is wii exclusive and i am not getting a wii for just one game. SF3 new generation and second impact were saturn exclusive but we got it eventually in 30th anniversary collection. I hope Ultra SF2 will come to ps4 or PS5 eventually. :)
