Finally somebody putting respect on the Ever-Lovin Blue-Eyed Thing from the Fantastic Four

Wow I didn’t realize he was that strong Ik he was up there with hulk,Thor and others but dang we really ain’t no joke if you can knock out the hulk then that’s somethings

He was locked into a slug fest to the death with the immortal hulk and Ben managed to ko the hulk tho at great physical toll. My boy Ben ain't something you play with

Ben Grimm is a badass and true gentleman in my book. Been a fan of his since childhood.

As a fan who's been following the Thing since the sixties, I can tell you that his only REAL limitation is his own mind! When he's gone berserk, and his suppressed mind is freed, he's many times stronger than he is normally! When he defeated the mind controlled Immortal Hulk, the Thing knew that this was life or death! He was about to transform into his human form, and the Puppet Master was going to kill him when he did! He had no other choice but to put the Hulk down! The mental blocks mostly disappeared, self preservation kicked in, and he knocked the Hulk out! Without the mental blocks, that I think Reed had something to do with, he is Professor Hulk class or greater! I honestly don't think Colossus comes close to the full potential of the Thing! That Thing fought a fully enraged Hulk, in Fantastic Four 112, and not only held his own, but from the readers standpoint, was winning ... until a rock hit Alicia Masters in the head and distracted him! At that moment, the Hulk hit him when he looked away! The Thing had gone berserk the issue before, and whatever mental blocks he'd had, were not present in that fight! He even broke free of the same choke hold (put on him by the enraged Hulk) that Hercules used on Thor! Those of us who've been following the Thing from the beginning, know that he's far stronger than the writer's of your generation have made him out to be! That's the bad writing! Personally, I would write those mental blocks away, and let him reach his full potential! That would see him growing in strength and stature! And I think it would breathe new life into the Fantastic Four!

The thing is very underrated. I love how relatable he is and he has grit/heart to boot. And his trash talking game is on the level of Muhammad ali's lol.

The Hulk is my favorite powerhouse.However I do agree The Thing has been underrated.He has been able to go toe to toe with some of strongest powerhouses.One of the things I do admire about him the most is his never give up attitude.His fights with Super Gladiator and Champion were some of the most brutal I have ever seen.

When I was a toddler, reading comics, the Thing was my favorite strongman. Unlike the Hulk, at the time, didn't say much. But the Thing could always make me laugh with his trash talk.

Thanks for posting this. We need more videos showing just how underrated Ben Grimm really is. Ben might be the second most underrated character in all of Marvel. I wish to add there are more of the Thing knocking out the Hulk, or the times Ben beat Thor, including when he knocked Thor out. We could also his Hercules match-ups like the time when he thought was the Red Hulk (it was Hercules disguised as Red Hulk). Ben held up well in his fight against the Colossus / Juggernaut. The Unstoppable Colossus was not even hurting Ben until Colossus / Juggs pushed Ben out of the blue area atmosphere into the unbreathable part on the moon. Unstoppable Colossus needs no atmosphere to breath but Ben ran out of air while trading punches. You shown when Ben beat Colossus at arm wrestling. You could have also added Ben's boxing match against the Champion as another comparison. Colossus was brutalized by the Champion in under 30 seconds and carried out on a stretcher. Ben by comparison, was able to battle the Champion for 3 rounds, even managing to break a rib. Although the Champion physically won the match, he held a great respect for The Thing and spared Earth because of it.

Ben Grimm has always been underestimated! And one thing I could never get over...he's listed at 6'0", 500 lbs. (at least the Earyh 616 version); he's always looked bigger & taller than that to me! He'd usually look no more than a few inches shorter than the Hulk! Never understood that! I'd at least have put him at 6'7" or more. But he's always been one of my favorites! The "Joe Fixit" version of the Hulk & the Thing have an almost identical verbal repitoir & mannerisms...probably because of their similarity in size. I'm looking forward to seeing how Mr. Grimm will be depicted within the upcoming MCU feature films. Here's hoping they get him right!

He's a Great Fighter and it's that that makes him so formidable as well as his strength.

The Thing was always my favorite character in Marvel, followed by Captain and Iron Man. He was gruff, simple, but intelligent and moral... and strong as hell. Reed was given all the intelligence accolades - almost - as Tony Stark, but Ben was often referred to, especially by Reed, as the best pilot in the universe.

I am a huge fan of Ben Grimm. He is my favorite member of the Fantastic Four. While I do think he is in some degree underrated, I don't think he is the most underrated character of all time.

Really well done. I had forgotten about some of those feats. There was also the time he fought the power gem wielding Champion at length and gave him a good run, and the time he shattered an adamantium prison in Marvel two in one

great job dude. the Thing has been my favorite comic character since I was 7 in 1973, when I read my first FF reprint in Marvel's greatest comics. when they fight Sandman and Blastarr. he is the best "to me" hero when written and drawn well , you can not beat him.

I think Marvel wants fans to see Thing as sort of a Sam Gamgee type of character. He doesn't stand out, but when you need him, he'll be there to save the day.

I loved this. I am an old time Thing fan. Thing is in the top tier of powerful Beings. He's beat Hulk, Sub Mariner, Doctor Doom, Annihilus, Super Adaptoind, Executioner, Miracle Man, Sand Man, Terrax, Kree Sentries, Wrecker, and tons of other super androids, Giant Monsters, Robots, Doombots and on and on I could go.

Besides being amazingly strong, Ben Grimm is also an extremely skilled fighter and has demonstrated high levels of knowledge with wrestling, judo and boxing. A lot of characters are strong but the Thing actually knows how to fight with his head as well as his strength. Some writers like, for example, Peter David, have more than once mistakenly portrayed the Thing to be a common brawler. The Thing also has a sense of resolve that makes him almost unbeatable, as the Champion found out when he fought Ben Grimm in the ring back in the original Marvel 2-in-one days.

Hats off to The Thing he has grown in power.

I think the Thing strength is so much higher then he let's on. He is always pulling his punches. He's a fighter, and he knows he'll kill people if he doesn't.

The thing holding back is large star level to solar system level but when he don't hold back and fights at his maximum..hes at least low multiverse plus. As seen in this video, he have feats of fighting Thor who was low multiverse back then, silver surfer who was low multiverse level back then, hulk, juggernaut who is low multiverse level plus in back then or when he ask for more power from his demon god, gray hulk who is low multiverse level but holds back, professor hulk who is low multiverse level but holds back and juggernaut fused with colloses was at least low multiverse level plus to low complex multiverse

When I was small boy my favorite battle cry while rough housing was , It's Clobberin' Time!! I could recite monologue from the classic Hanna-Barbara cartoons (God it brings tears to my eyes)if I was in a jam, and had to fight my way out, Ben Grimm and I whooped plenty of ass together. Ben Grimm reflect the mortal in us, the greater the obstacles the greater need to over come, the fighting spirit to never give up.

Concerning Ben vs Silver Surfer, when he fought Dr Doom charged up with Surfer's powers amping his strength to crush the things hands applying 1million tons pcsi, revenge for Ben crushing his, Ben broke his grip and launched Doom via rock fist. The restraints that prevent Thing from returning to human form at will (Reed knows Ben's inability is only psychological) are same blocks that keep his power range at certain levels. And at times even his height which seems to vary btwn 6'o-6'11. I've always suspected Ben has vast reserves of power he has yet to tap into. I submit this on top or agreeing with the video's assessment.

The Thing’s greatest strength is his heart and courage.

Thing seems like he is caught somewhere between Colossus strength and old school normal Hulk strength. This makes him a punching bag most of the time. Also he is treated like comic relief a lot. Poor Ben.

I haven’t read comics in many many years but I always had respect for the Thing. This is a guy that has fought the freaking Hulk, a rampaging Hulk at that, multiple times. When you really think about it most of those fights came to a draw. The way I see it, Hulk is like Goku and Thing is like Vegeta. Go ahead, disrespect Vegeta. I dare you.

The Thing is underrated all right, but not just because he's more powerful physically than people give him credit for. He's even braver than he is strong, he just won't give upon matter who he's up against. He can take the heaviest imaginable punishment and still keep moving forward. He was the first superhero who didn't even want his power, he just wanted to be human again. Before FF #1, Marvel was putting out monster comics, so he represents the transition of Marvel into superhero comics. Stan Lee says he created the Hulk because the Thing was so popular. Last but not least, the Thing was based in part on Jack Kirby's life, his middle name is Jacob (Kirby's first name) and the Yancy street gang is about Delancy Street, near where Kirby grew up.

This is dope and you are right people sleep on the thing a lot and consider him weaker then the hulk which is kinda true. Hulk and thing have had a bunch of annual fights over the years. But the thing has a limit and can fight the hulk for hours while hulk gets stronger and is a great wrestler/brawler.

Would love to see Thing fight the Abombination, which He did and won in the younger age Fantastic Four series. Also a cool story would be Thing fighting Thor's old sparring partner ULIK, the Rock Troll. The new Thing limited series is going to have Thing fighting the Champion again. Can't wait.

Underrated cause the fantastic four holding him back IMO

With the Thing fighting Marvel Godzilla, it seems like even Godzilla fans underestimate him by a lot and some probably putting him at planet level at best (me included). However watching this video and acknowledging the fact that Godzilla overpowered Hulk (and absorbed his Gamma Radiation as a result), I am thinking that I underestimated Marvel Godzilla by a lot.

I was born in da mid 60s and read alot of comics in the 70s and 80s especially fantastic 4 and Marvel 2 in 1 (things comic). most of the old comics you showed, I read/owned when they came out. Read them till I left to the the service in 84. So what I'm saying is i gots mad love for the thing, and i always knew how strong he was it's like ppl didnt see it. I just came back from an argument with a guy who said the thing is only planet level and he even tried using it to make hulk look weak. This vid proved everything he said wrong. Also the thing will forever be one of my childhood heroes and nobody is gonna change my mind.

Underrated characters surprisingly may have push me to working out and give more motivation than the popular one, easily considering Ben Grim as one of the best motivational character. Still, Hulk my man the best though

The Thing, as well as the rest of the FF, has been slowly evolving because his body continues to absorb cosmic radiation, in fact, he might be almost as powerful as he was when he was a human pineapple. He's defiantly has gotten bigger.

The thing started at 5 ton class. He was bumped up to 50, 75/85 and even 100 ton class. The hulk isn't much different. The variants of hulk are far more powerful than the 90's let alone back in the grey origin days.
